I know it's not affiliated with Subeta (probably) but is it kosher? I want to join but I feel like there are red flags as it's asking for access to things like my sp amount and everything in my wardrobe etc etc...
Anyone know?
If it wasn't legit, it probably would have been reported + at least the thread shut down by now, seeing as it's advertised on site. I don't personally know why it would need access to your sP, but as it's a HA sharing site, it makes sense that it would be useful to log your wardrobe items. I'm not sure what it's used for on the site, though as I don't use it personally. I just keep my HAs saved to my computer.
I went over there and started the registration process because I wanted to see what they were asking for. Because no, they should not have a need to see your sP. Here is what it says the collect when registering:
In order to complete your registration to Subeta Showcase, we&;re going to have to connect your account via the Subeta API. Now, I understand this can be kind of confusing. So here&;s a list of what access we&;re asking for specifically.</p>
<p>user.details - This will allow us to obtain your UserID and your current Subeta Username
user.wardrobe - This allows us to access the following user information: user avatar, clothes wearing, additional slots, avatar hexes, salon hair.
This is so you can showcase what items you&;re wearing when you upload your avatar.
user.add_event - This allows us to send events to your Subeta account. We will use this to notify you of new comments, likes, messages, etc.
Some events may be subject to Premium access.
If you&;re comfortable with all of this, continue your registration by clicking the button below. If it blank pages on you, please goto Subeta and logout and back in before retrying.

Scratch all that. I just clicked it and got the next page which says
The application "Subeta Showcase (v2)" wants to connect to your account!
If you click approve you will be redirected back to the application and it will be able to securely access your information and perform actions on your behalf. You can delete this app from your account at anytime here!</p>
<p>These are the permissions this app would like to have:
user details Access following user details: username, userid, total sP, post count
Add Event Allows the application to send you events on Subeta!
User Wardrobe Allows access to the following details: user avatar, clothes wearing, additional slots, avatar hexes
I am not clicking that until I get a good reason why they need access to that.

Oh, yeah that's all pretty basic stuff tbh. I wouldn't worry about it [edit] Nvm just saw Georgie's edit :P But aside from looking for sP/post count (???) it's still pretty basic stuff

I had a moment of confusion because I used to run a fansite by the same name, LOL. TOTALLY DIFFERENT THING, though.

We need to access your user.info primarily for your Subeta Userid and Username (though usernames aren&;t currently used anywhere in the script) - We are not interested in your total sp, forum posts, etc.</p>
<p>In order for your account to function properly, your Subeta ID is used to generate the download url and limit account creations. It&;s not used anywhere else, nor released/misused/etc</p>
<p>My lotto currently has a similar function that serves the purpose of making entering into it a one click button, as well as provide an additional ticket if they have a Gold Account.</p>

Additionally, the ability to send you notifications on Subeta is a premium feature that you can turn on or off.
