Wasn't sure where to put this question exactly... and it's probably pretty far fetched.

But i'm looking for this

http://www.ebay.com/itm/U-S-Army-1st-Cavalry-Division-FIRST-TEAM-Paracord-SURVIVAL-Bracelet-w-Buckle/201264583403?_trksid=p2141725.c100338.m3726&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20150313114020%26meid%3D703a05554e6546d8b2c037c7f09a2406%26pid%3D100338%26rk%3D2%26rkt%3D30%26sd%3D201237776528

The charm that is on the bracelet. I want to buy just the charm because i want to make a bracelet myself (it's a birthday gift and I just think it will mean so much more if i actually make it)

Anyone know a place to buy them? Or suggestions where to look?

Well, hun, you could ask the seller on that website you found if they would just sell you the charm. Since they state that each bracelet will be custom cut to fit the wearer, maybe they can accomodate your request, too. They also said to ask any question before buying, so I'd think asking wouldn't hurt.

Another way might just be to buy the charm and remove the bracelet to replace it with one you made yourself. That would only work if you can actually cut through the material the bracelet it made from (parachute cord I think it said?) - another question that you could ask them.

And maybe there's an army shop (or whatever a place it called where you can buy army issue stuff like overproduced or decommissioned items) somewhere close?

A fourth option might be asking a friend of the birthday "kid" to help you - a friend from the army or a friend who signed up with him.

Hope that helps! :-)

Thanks Lanara

It's actually for the boy... I want to make him a bracelet to replace the one i lost (but since his was green and this one is yellow and black... i want it to be green and add that charm just for the heck of it cause i know he will love it)

I did a little research and found that those charms are actually shoelace charms. They sell blank ones that I could put the design in myself so that might just happen!

We shall see. I almost wonder if it will be easier to just buy him the bracelet -_-

You are welcome. :) I had suspected it was going to be for him... I agree with SlashSlashX - making it yourself will show a great deal of caring. And since the lost bracelet had great emotional value, giving him something self-made will be giving him something of potentially equal emotional value...

So while buying it will be easier, part of the added value of self-made gifts is the time and care put into creating them. When I was still in high school, I've made some people very happy gifting them a cherry blossom tree hand-crafted from small glass pearls. Took me about three days to craft each of them... So if at all possible, do stick with the original plan of crafting the bracelet yourself. :)
