Hello all! I'm rather frustrated at the moment. I've been having some problems with allergy symptoms the last couple of days. Not a lot of symptoms, just a sense of a lot of histamine, sneezing a couple times, a couple sniffles, etc. So what do I do? I take medicine for it. Cold and allergy medicine that's supposed to be an antihistamine, taking care of itchy watery eyes, sneezing, runny nose, etc. That's what you do right? Take medicine to help you?!
Do I get cured? A reprieve from my symptoms for a time? NO!!! It actually made everything worse! My eyes are now bloodshot, my nose will NOT stop dripping, I'm coughing like crazy, my throat hurts, my ears hurt every time I swallow and I'm dizzy! This is not helping! This is not what medicine is supposed to do! I'm now afraid to take anything else, because I'm afraid it will make things even worse. So I'm sitting here, typing this up, and miserable. :(
Has anyone else had this happen? Does anyone have some helpful advice for me?

I have the worst allergies ever. I take 1-2 Benadryl every day year round as well as Singulair and Flonase. It all helps a teeny tiny bit but ugh I'm pretty much miserable 24/7. I'm sorry I have no helpful advice for you but at least you know you're not alone?
I just drink tea with honey in it. The honey has to be local though, collected within 50 miles of where you live, so that it has your specific local pollen in it. That's what helps with allergies. The honey also soothes your throat. Green tea is best because it has the most antioxidants.
Well, I went to the drug store and got a couple products. I found one that cleared me up nicely, so yay! I was sneeze-free for nearly 20 hours! I cannot describe how embarrassing it is to be sitting in the front of the room during a meeting with all your coworkers and boss, sneezing your head off. Seriously. Love this drug now.
Ooh! I never knew that about the honey, but it makes sense. I do love my tea, but mostly black teas, which irritate sore throats for some reason. :(

Glad you found a drug that works! I was like Stellar with multiple medicines year-round until I got allergy shots. They're quite the ordeal, but they've really helped.
One thing I found when I was taking all of that allergy medicine was that I had to change my antihistamine around every so often. It was like I would get used to one and it would stop working, but if I switched to a different over-the-counter medicine it would work much better. So if you find that the medicine you're currently taking stops working as well, try switching it again.
I've also heard that people have success with the local honey, but it didn't seem to work for me.
