there could be some short of option at the "pets" page to lock pets you don't want to appear in the pets list at the zapper

YES, same I was just thinking this. My zap pet is all the way at the bottom of the dropdown list which makes it quite a nuisance.. I'm waiting for the day I accidently forget to select a pet or select the wrong one before I zap.

Having clickable pictures of your pets like in the coliseum or the ability to lock certain pets into/exempt from the zapper would be great.

To be honest, I think this is just a case of being more vigilant. I haven't zapped a pet in years. Usually if I want a pet color change these days I just buy it but I double-check and triple-check that anything that's color related is on the right pet before I use anything that'll result in a species, gender or a color change.

That said, I've changed a pet's color in the past and ended up buying a potion to just get them back to the correct one, but it's not necessarily a feature I think is a necessity per se though I'll admit it'd probably make things a lot easier. I think this is mostly just a matter of personal accountability; that is, double and triple check that you have it on the right pet before zapping ANYTHING.

I'd quite like this (not just because sometimes the page jumps and makes me click the wrong thing - I've clicked the wrong pet for Merana's quest before, because of that), but also to save having to find that one pet in a list of 49 names! I have my battle pets at the top of the list, to make battling easier, and my active pet is my main battler, so any zapper pets end up dotted about somewhere in the rest of my pets

I don't always want my zapper pet to be my active (and there are times when there's two pets I want to zap), so if I could lock the ones I don't want to zap (or even lock the ones I do want to see there, whichever makes it easier for staff), that would make zapping a load easier, and save the strain on my nerves when I have a feeling I've misclicked!
