I don't think this is utterly necessary... It is just a daily link so you can add it to a Notepad or check it once a day. IMO alerts are mostly for links that can be done more than once a day.

Just because it's not necessary doesn't mean it wouldn't be useful! :) None of the alerts are actually necessary. I suggest putting a reminder on the notepad option on your sidebar, that's how I remind myself of the hustler, ruffie raffle etc.

Shinwa has a "set an alert" button and if you dont want to use it, you dont have to. With all the daily's on the site now, I think it would be helpful.

but Shinwa was supposed to be every 24h, not resetting at midnight. That way, she had a Alert button because it's not easy to track every day when you did her quest. Now she resets at midnight Subeta time but guess they keeped the alert anyway.

The Hustler, Ruffie Raffle, The Ikumoradeekanox, The Freyalise Galley are examples of once a day links that you can simply add a link on a notepad, like Carnival

Simple as that. It changes daily so a alert that just pings you at midnight subeta time is useless.

I actually wouldn't be opposed to a "Daily" Widget for our sidebars, kind of like how we have the quest ones. No alerts or anything, but just a list of links that update daily. Things like recycle smelting, lottery, star gazer, hustler, ruffie raffle... I think we actually have quite a few daily activities. Might be nice to have them all in one widget (outside of making our own using a notepad, since it seems a good deal of people already do this, so might as well make an official widget for it). Though, some things already have an alert anyway (such as the ruffie raffle).

I personally would advice you to use the Ruffie Raffle alert for things that reset at midnight.
