I've ben hoarding a bunch of Mage Amulets for the past few months and I am not familiar with their use. I've seen people mention them for stat boosters or material to make battle items. What exactly can the amulets be used for? Or are they just a fancy wearable?

the amulets are used here http://subeta.net/explore/mage.php they will turn into tomes or shards. i think the ratio of tomes to amulets is about 1:6
