So...in honor of an obscure (but fun!) holiday, I'd like to do a raffle for a very high end item. I'd like to do it raffle style: you "buy" a ticket by sending any item with a certain word in the name. Just as an Example: Giving away a rare bg that has to do with apples. To enter, send any item that has the word "apple" in it to claim a ticket.

I have a spreadsheet. I'd assign numbers in the order of entries received and use a random generator to pick a winner at the end of the raffle.

Because the item is going to cost me some real money, I want it to make sure it goes to someone who is a bit invested enough to take the time to enter. But is this "legal" here? I browsed and couldn't find anything that said no. I'd not require a specific item to keep it fair. Just as long as the item had the golden word in the name, it could be any thing.

Can someone tell me if this is allowed?

As far as I've ever been told. You cannot require a fee / items for someone to participate in a giveaway.

Here's a snippit from a past ticket. I'd confirm via your own ticket to ensure the rule still applies though
