I've been on this site for over 4 years (this is my second account - I had someone hack my old one. I bitter old friend) and I still have NO idea what restocking is on here or how it functions/works. I feel kind of ridiculous for not knowing but oh well. Can't change what I don't know. I hear it's a good way to make good SP but I have no idea how it works.

Can someone put it in simple/lament terms for me?

I would superbly appreciate it!

restocking is buying items from NPC shops (shops not owned by actual players, but rather shops owned by Non-Player Charcters), which sell items at pre-determined prices that are oftentimes lower than user shop prices. restocking these items and reselling them in your shop can be very lucrative. most users have shops they like to restock, and everyone develops different strategies for restocking the best items. but the basic strategy is to open up one or two NPC shops, buy up the items that you think you can make a profit off of, and refresh the page(s) until the shop restocks, and repeat.

The easy (and somewhat snarky) answer is simply "restocking is buy low and sell high(er)".

More seriously, what said. Restocking happens mostly in the NPC shops; it's just buying items at NPC store prices and selling to other users for higher prices. You can find those NPC shops scattered around the Explore map or, more conveniently, by clicking "Commerce" on the toolbar and then "Main Shops". I think all but the very newest shops are gathered on that page and are easy to find.

Knowing what to restock depends very much on how well you know item values and how much patience you have for buying from NPC shops. With a little trial and error, you'll find a method that works best for you.
