;u; I recently got a new laptop since I needed a more portable one. (I don't have a desktop or anything else).

It has a 13" screen size, and 1920 x 1080 resolution, which was fine. Then I upgraded to Windows 10 and the sizing is just ?? I did change the scaling back to 100%. I kept the "size of text, apps, and other items" to 150% because if I don't everything is hella small on my screen (before I upgraded, the sizing seemed fine and I just have no fricking clue what the settings were before). Maybe I can move it to 125%? I don't even know anymore. (Is this even the right place to post this?)

Anyway! I just have no clue what the profiles I make appear to others. And especially if people use a larger screen, they'll be able to see details/errors that look fine to me since things are tiny to me??

I don't know, would someone be willing to give me feedback on how to size things? Like, is there an ideal text box size? Background size? None because with different browsers and screen sizes and resolutions available, you just hope for the best? Is anyone willing to screenshot a profile for me??

For reference, the profiles I made with my old laptop (15", 13xx x 7xx screen res, though I had to scroll less to see the same amount of a profile than the laptop I'm using now???): Optimist, Totsuka, Flier, Wordplay, Tokiya Ichinose

New laptop ones: Daron, Teros, Sincerity

Am I just being needlessly paranoid? I hope I am, because g damn I still don't fully understand profiles but I kind of want to keep making them ;A;

I have a laptop and my resolution is 1366x768, I believe. I struggle with understanding resolutions and stuff like that myself but both the old and new laptop profiles look perfectly fine to me. The two sets feel different in how they use space however it's just a matter of feeling rather than quality uvu

I'm having a 17" notebook (totally impractical and super heavy btw) with a resolution of 1920x1080 and those layouts all look fine to me c: I usually work with an 1200x800 canvas when making a profile so it fits most resolutions and I prefer to center layouts because that usually looks less empty on bigger screens like my own xD

Thank you for the feedback and the info! ;u; (also woah damn 17" sounds heavy haha) By centering layouts, would you recommend centering everything in that 1200 x 800 canvas, or centering the 1200 x 800 canvas in the center of the screen itself? I'm so new to this orz

Ah crap, I accidentally closed the window and lost my whole text cries You're welcome c: (Yeah, it is pretty paniful to carry that thing for more than five minutes, I'm glad it usually just sits on my desk xD) I definitely try to center the canvas on the screen because that looks the best. A canvas with centered canvas that clings to the left of the screen usually looks a bit odd. Most of my layouts have the content of that canvas mostly centered. I generally try to make the whole layout centered so not only the text box but also the images I use and stuff like on Arctus' profile where I moved the starry stripes a bit to the left because of the pet image. This profile I made for front shows pretty well how off centered the text box can be. (I think pretty much my only profile with a really centered text box is this one though it's kind of unbalanced with the pet image to the lower left and nothing in the upper right). A super important thing when making profiles is to try to balance things out. So if the left half of your canvas is completely empty it usually looks pretty weird. Imaginge this profile without the mountain. It would look off, like someone sucked at positioning. That doesn't mean that everything has to be perfectly centered and even though. In this profile the left side has a lot more images and is a bit heavier than the right side which contrasts as being dominated by the space background and the text. Since the text spreads a bit to the left, too, it creates more of a balance. If you feel like something's not quite right don't be afraid to change things or start over! I've frequently done that in the past and sometimes still do. Taking a break also helps if you can't point a finger at what's wrong.

Yeah, that really sucked, I'm glad I wasn't completely finished when it happened. (It's even a pain to find a bag you can put it in because it's so huge.. But it's great if you don't have to move it, lol)

Haha, it's okay c: Left aligned profiles can have charm, too, but's it's harder to make them look good on a big screen because of all the space xD
