I was curious if there are any rat owners on Subeta. I have owned rats for several years. Currently I have three boys. Remy, Ren, and Rufus. Remy and Ren are brothers, and Rufus is hairless. They are around 9 months old. They are my babies and they are spoiled rotten! Here are pics of them I took over Easter weekend.

They are SO cute. I wish I could have ratties. I keep trying to tell my mom how clean they are and how smart, but all she sees is 'dirty rodents'. Once I'm living on my own, maybe then I can get one or several and she'll see differently.

Rats are the best! ^o^ I have seven rats currently. (: Three girls: Theia, Pika and Rizzy. Four boys: Onix, Baelfire, Tonka and Duke.

Your babies are so cute! They are just such wonderful little creatures. I would love to have some of my own, but I have three cats right now and I don't think it would be fair to house rats so close to cats and give them little mini rat heart-attacks! :'^(

I really want to get rats. I've been working on convincing my boyfriend that they can be cute and clean and smart. I bring it up when we're talking sometimes, hoping he'll change his mind.

They are so freaking cute! I grew up with rats, hamsters, fish and birds.

I currently own two hamsters (they are brother and sister and are both 1 year and 7 months old), a lovebird and I'm working on getting rid of my fish tank so my bird has a stand for his cage.

I was planning on getting rats after my hamsters (I've owned several hamsters over the last four years), but I adopted a lovebird and he pretty much takes up most of my time during the day. All my babies are spoiled rotten! <3

I love rats, used to have 3, Kyo, Momiji and Haru. My dog thought they were her babies and you would always find the four snuggled up together it was so cute!

I know you posted this quite a few days ago but I had to reply and say your rats are SO FREAKING CUTE! I have 4 girls and one of them is hairless. Rufus looks so young and sweet!

I love rats. I wanted to get one or two but I heard they didn't have very long lifespans :/

I was so excited when I spotted this thread, you don't even know. I currently have 3 girls and 1 neutered boy, who is still waiting to live with the ladies. I just got him neutered less than a week ago, and it takes awhile for boy rats to be sterile.

Lady-rat names: Lola, Moki, Addie Man-rat name: Andre

I have had rats for years, oh boy it would take some memory to list them all off! I only have 5 maximum at any given time, but I wish my living situation allowed for more. I would love to rescue a pregnant female and raise her babies, but I don't dare breed myself (breeding gets into ethical debates and it is genetically tricky).

Thank you all. I adore my boys. They are my babies. I've taught each of them there names and they come when I call them. With the exception on Rufus. He only comes if he feels like it. Remy is my little mischievous one. He is my heart rat. I throw some old blankets on my bed when they are out (to try to stop them from chewing my blankets, pillows and sheets. Also to keep there poops from going every where). Remy sneaks under the blankets and pulls the foam rubber off my memory foam pillow. He also figured out how to get off the bed and go on his little adventures. Luckily he will come back when I call him.

I do hate their short life span (two to three years). My boys are coming up on their one year mark. All are in good health so far. I sometimes suffer from depression and they really help cheer me up.

I would LOVE to see some pics of your rats if you guys have them.

I have four rats myself! Momo (who is my baby), Kimchi, Pocket, and Mocha. They're younger than yours and all girls, but I also spoil mine rotten!
