I made a post about this last year, but it didn't seem to get much notice, so I thought I'd bring it up again.
The idea is to be able to move TC slots from one pet to another when you perhaps don't want/need that many slots on one pet and you'd like a diff one to have them. Some of my pets I like having a certain amount of slots. I recently opened some MKBs for one pet before deciding I didn't want them after all and now they're just going to go unused on the pet. (I know some people would say, just use them, but for a certain aethsetic, I don't want to and I have that right). So, thought it'd be nice to be able to swap out pet TC between each other- rather like how you can swap names of pets if you want to.
One thing that was mentioned before, was to prevent abuse, perhaps there'd be a time frame set to pets that if it's adopted (and has a lot of TC) that you can't just transfer the TC to another pet and abandon it. Not sure if this could be coded into pets given to someone (but I'm certain if you went to the adoption forum and asked for a pet with a high TC and then abandoned it after harvesting the TC, you'd get some hate).
I still like this idea and would like to see it get some serious consideration.... but obviously not high priority.
[urhttp://subeta.net/forums.php/read/816409/Moving-TC-slots-around]Here's the original post. (I would've bumped it, but being so old I was worried about it getting me in trouble... tho I know sometimes people do nacro and don't get in trouble around here... still worried me. lol.)
Thoughts? Just thought this would be handy... (kinda like the one I just read about buying TC slots directly on the TC page (that would be awesome).
I wished that had been around BEFORE I adopted out a pet with 3000 slots
You can already buy TC slots directly on the TC page c:
Yeah I support this. I was trying to spend my entire bank awhile back and I went and bought some TC slots with it; I didn't go crazy but I'm not honestly sure I'll need them where I put them (nowhere near 3000 though, ouch Sophie)
i'd totally love this. i made a suggestion board about this 3(!) years ago now damn. not many posts but CLICK if anyone's interested
maybe the total number of slots could be linked to each account so people couldn't adopt a pet w high slots and then move it around
You can? Huh, I must've missed that. I've been rather inactive for awhile (toddler)- so I've missed a lot of things. xD;
Ha, that's a lot of TC! But yes, I agree, sometimes ideas change or you get a slot you don't want or something, would be nice if you could just move them to a more useful pet.
That could be an idea. Not sure how many people would go for linking the TC slots to their account tho, when adopting it out, sometimes high TC is a draw for some potential adopters. I guess they could always allow you put set a certain number of slots if you plan on giving the pet to someone.
Either way- I just think something like this would be handy and allow more flexibility to the users regarding their own pets.
yeah, true. i think one group has to end up a bit unhappy if this was a thing. gotta choose the lesser evil i guess. i've never been able to figure out a happy medium to that problem haha. which is a real shame, i really think this would benefit a good amount of the userbase if it was implemented.
Yeah, there's absolutely no possible way to please everyone all of the time. But imo, if the majority are happy, that's what's important and those that don't like it just don't have to use it. I made mention that maybe staff will notice this info, but they didn't last time and I still don't think they will... it's not getting enough attention as is.
I mean, if they can add a feature like, allowing us to buy slots via the TC pages, why not also add a section to say "move TC slots to other pet"? I mean, if you want to make another sP hole, you could always make people pay a certain amount to trade a certain number- rather like how they have the purchasing atm. But, for less sP since you already have the TC slot... but still, even if you said it's 10k to move 1 slot and raise it up for like 1mil to move 25 slots- it probably wouldn't be something people would easily do if they had to pay for it as opposed to being a thing you can do. We have to pay to change names, so why not TC slots?
Support c:. Ideas change, so it would definitely be nice to switch TC slots around.
If TC slots can be moved, why not battle stats? I'd rather move my battle stats.
Thing is, I knew going in that there was only two options, if I decided I wanted those stats on a different pet: name change or start over... I don't like it particularly, but it makes sense. Making it so I can move them around whenever (basically) and however I wish doesn't, not really. They'd have to put limitations in place or someone like me, with multiple trained pets, could max out a pet overnight.
TC slots are similar. A user invests in a given pet to increase TC slots. This investment is made with no expectation of any kind of reimbursement if their plans change. (This would be considered a reimbursement, because basically, it's "Oh, hey, I see you've got extra slots over there. I'll take them off your hands and knock this much off the cost of these new slots." The user would be reimbursed, somewhat, via the savings. Anyway, moving on...) I don't think they could make it cheap enough for it to really be considered a particularly favorable option, it would be something most users would only get occasional use out of, and I imagine the coding would be a bit of a headache (mass delete here, mass add there)... I don't deny that it would be nice, at times... I just don't think it is a feature that needs to be added. And I'm not convinced it even should be added. -shrugs-
Well, no, I am not following this idea.
If you want TC slots from another pet, you just get to use the name exchange feature like said.
And I am one of those who spent a lot on MKBs and still will. I have extra slots on some pets and so what ? And for the people saying "my TC is finished with 4 items and I have now 10 extra slots so I'd like to send them to another pet" (on the other thread)... Please don't tell me you're gonna be way poorer at spending on 5 more MKBs (aka 750k) on the other pet. And if it is like a "nice sP sink" it means you're still going to spend sP to swap your TC slots so in the end I just don't get the point of it ? Where's the difference from purchasing MKBs or TC slots ? Well I get the point of "it is more expensive for each TC slot you transfer" but still...
I don't really support this. I just feel like this could potentially be abused, and a headache to try to sort out all of the limitations that would need to be put in place and I'd rather see other parts of the site get attention (tbh a lot of things on this site need attention haha).
Would it be convenient sometimes? Yeah, I can personally see how it would, to have more flexibility with my TC slots c:
But I have invested in the TCs that I do have with the expectation that they are, well, permanent. And others may have adopted out pets with high TCs with this same expectation, so to suddenly be like "oh hey you can swap TC slots" would be unfair for them (I personally would feel annoyed if that were the case for me).
Not to mention that having to buy more TC slots would be a better sP sink than... swapping out current TC slots for a cheaper price than buying new ones.
(:
I could actually see how this could be useful for a lot of players who only want a certain amount of slots. If it were a sp available service; you buy the ability to switch out slots to another pets( like the name exchange for pets) then I could see it being used as either a revenue( if it was via csc) or as an sp sink for the site as well. That said, I'm the same as Kiseki in that in general when I buy slots I buy them as permanent slots and intend to use them. If some then don't get used well, at least I still have the extra slots since they usually end up getting used at some point or another anyway.
If I had the ability to switch slots before I adopted out my 3000+ slots pet, I would have sunk more. Now, I see pet treasures as literally being a waste of space because of how user unfriendly they are. Why would I sink SP in a pet I'm not even sure I'll still like in two years.
Oooh okay that's a valid point. When I wrote that, I was thinking very simply in terms of:
Pet A has 20 slots and is using 10 of them. Pet B needs 10 slots.
Option A: Buy 10 slots for Pet B, sinking 1,000,000 sP. Option B: Transfer 10 slots from Pet A to Pet B at say, 50k per slot, thus sinking only 500,000 sP. (If the option to transfer cost more than purchasing 1 slot regularly, then that wouldn't make sense because why would people pay more to transfer slots? Besides aesthetic ones. Hence I chose an arbitrary 50k as an example).
I didn't take into account other variables such as the inflexible nature of TC slots turning away players who would potentially buy even more TC slots if they had the ability to be swapped :') Or sinking more sP into a slot that was already paid for, thus sinking 150k (using the same numbers as above) for 1 bit of data? Welp, I'm getting myself confused.
I spent a couple hundred millions on that specific pet. I didn't sink everything in the MC (lol 12 hour limit) but if I paid that much for slots, I would have loved to have the freedom to do as I wish with them.
Now, I just have a gallery, it's free. Sucks, but at least, I'm no longer breaking the site, right?
I like this idea for it's convenience but I dislike it because imo slots are one of those things that I feel makes a pet an individual. We can already swap names and change everything about the pet. This is one of the last things that allows a pet still something of what it always has been and will be. You take away the slots and it's literally just an id that you can literally change everything about. I don't know why I care but for some reason I do.. Not saying it's a good argument against it but it's a reason why I wouldn't care for it.
Thank you for the alternative POV :')
I think I'm no longer for or against. If it happens, I'll appreciate and probably take advantage of the convenience. If it doesn't, I'll just keep doing what I've always been doing LOL
I see what you mean, and pft my concern about this was "what if someone adopts a pet just to farm all of the TC slots from it and then they pound it and the poor pet :c "
Personally I wouldn't use this. I never have any themeless pets and if I get bored with the theme of a pet I rename that pet and redo its TC.
