I noticed that what our pets say after they're fed gets repetitive pretty quick, and thought it'd be cute to spice it up a little by adding new phrases. Perhaps they could even be unlocked as you feed your pet more unique items, so those with a Gourmand pet could have more a more refined pallet than, say, a pet that's only fed the same food over and over. So after feeding your pet 50 unique foods--the first tier in the Gourmand achievement--your pet gets a new batch of phrases, then again at 100, 150, etc.

If it doesn't make sense for what the pet's eating (like, saying, "Oh, how exquisite! This [food name] is remarkably fresh!" for moldy cucumber slices), I think that'd just add to the humor.

Some examples: "My compliments to the chef!" "The undertones of oak and nutmeg really make this meal." "What are you trying to do, poison me?" "This is totally inedible. I can't believe they charge sP for this." "Cooked to perfection. Do I detect a little paprika used for flavor?" "While the spices are a little intense, I appreciate the presentation more than anything." "Ooh! Spicy!" "Serving this food to anything but Graveyard pets ought to be a crime." "That was the most filling meal I've had in a long time." "Pete wrote a great review for [food name] recently, so I'm glad I got to try it, too."

...and so on. I also think it'd be cool if phrases referred to other NPCs/site features (like the Pete one up there), too.

I'm still behind this idea 100% c: It's a small thing but I think it'd be nice to change things up a little c:

I love some of these, like "My compliments to the chef!" and "What are you trying to do, poison me?", but a few of them seem too long and wordy. I think it would be best to keep them more on the simpler side. I do support having new phrases though :D

i say give us an option to get rid of the sayings completely. i don't care the 2 cents my pet says about the food, i just want one less click to feed them for gourmand. they all ready got rid of the extra click from beanbags and plushies. thanks for doing that!

This needs to be the message that comes up whenever pets are fed things from Half Baked or The Lost Skeleton. My pet should not be happy to be fed poo or vomit. :X

I think some of these are kind of cute. That said, I admit I agree with Lantern that some are a bit wordy though. I'd rather just keep them short and concise personally.

I'd love some new phrases! The old ones get on my nerves after 5.5k feeds plus doubles. I like a lot of the examples listed in the OP, and lore-based phrases would definitely be welcome.

My reasoning for making some of the phrases longer was that I thought a pet with refined tastes would use multi-syllabic words to describe food, or at least go on about it a little more--but I'm a pretty long-winded person in the first place. =P Thanks for your feedback, folks!

Yeah, I'm pretty sure none of my pets canonically know what nutmeg and paprika are. I like stuff that's more generic, like the ones Lantern posted are perfect. The ones that go in detail may not fit everyone else's characters.

The more specific ones don't really fit, however much they may fit your pet or certain pets in general... These things don't take in your pet concepts to determine what they'd say.

But I am all for more things being put into the system. I vote for a threat, just to shake things up. "Feed that to me again and I might bite your hand off."

I would love some new phrases, but I do agree that they should be kept short and sweet (and generic)

Imagine that

feed pet some dessert thing, probably chocolate-covered-chocolate

Pet: Delicious! The cayenne pepper made all the difference

EXCUSE YOU, SPICY CHOCOLATE IS LITERALLY THE BEST. At least, I think so. I like adding paprika, cayenne, and chili powder to some of my chocolate sauces. Which really makes me want to make that mango ice cream with spicy chocolate sauce again. Starts drooling

I approve of all of this. My mahar needs to become a gourmet food snob IMMEDIATELY Also, having the pet's response be wildly inappropriate for the food type a la the cayenne pepper example above would be hilarious

I vote they add a "This is mediocre at best" line too. Some of the stuff we feed our pets (especially gourmand pets) can be blah.

Plain cornflakes with no milk, anyone? lol
