My room mates and I are getting an adorable orange kitten next month! We're still deciding on a name, but we're leaning towards Giles or Crookshanks (we have a lot of geeky fanpeople living here). We already have 2 adult cats, which I'm hoping won't be a problem. Anyone else getting a new buddy, or do you just wanna talk about kittens? <3

Aw, that's so exciting! I love kittens. I wish they could stay small forever...
Unfortunately not getting a new buddy (I have two cats already), but I was actually at a pet store today looking for one of those seat covers you can put in the back so heathen dogs don't eat your car/get mud/hair all over everything (I'm starting a dog walking job and have to use my own vehicle... hence, the cover), but anyways... there was a little orange and white kitten (from a rescue) in the store and she was so cute. Just super happy to have me come over and she was making bread and rubbing up along the glass. There was also an older orange cat who was just so happy to see people. His tail was vibrating and he was also rubbing his face against the glass and flopping.
I really hope someone takes them both home.
I love/hate going to the pet store, I love seeing all the adorableness, but I want to take all of them home D: I also have 2 adult cats, but everyone here including myself wants another cat. My room mate's friend is giving him to us for free when he's old enough <3 All we have to do is pay for his shots :3

I'm adopting a cat in a few days! I've already gotten to know/fall in love with her, since my local shelter has a foster-into-adoption program that I'm using. She's a huge adorable sweetheart who likes following my feet around.
If the place you're adopting from lets you, you might be able to introduce your cats to the newcomer and see how they take it? (My local shelter has "interview rooms," smallish rooms where you can take animals and get to know them, how they deal with your other pets/kids/whatever.) If not, a good way to introduce the new kitten might be to isolate it to one room of the building and introduce it slowly in a controlled environment (when you and/or your roommates are around) to the other two cats :) Good luck, and congratulations!
they/them/theirs, please.
we're actually getting the kitten today! He's already eating solid food, but the mother at is a bad influence and he hurt himself on the stairs :c We're getting him from my roommate's cousin. your new pal is adorable, by the way <3

D'aw, congrats on the new addition to your family!! Giles and Crookshanks are both great names (yay geeky fanpeoples)! For an orange kitten I'd also be tempted by the names Oliver and Milo. I had an orange kitty named Milo when I was a kid, "Milo & Otis" was one of my favorite movies. Best of luck with your new furry friend and may you have many healthy, happy years together!
No new additions for me anytime soon, we have a full house already...but they always seem to find us anyway. Most recent addition (a couple summers ago) was a little dog who was dumped in a parking lot. I was out with my mom when our car broke down and we actually witnessed it. Some people are just terrible...but I'm glad we were in the right place at the right time.
