My husband and I were pulling out of our housing complex parking spot and this guy who had just parked inside the gated area waved us down, so we rolled down the window and he just offered us furniture. I'd asked if it there was something wrong with it, because it looked fairly nice and it surprised me that he wanted to give it to us for free. He'd said they just upgraded to all the IKEA furniture, because it does have that [sub]old person[/sub] look to it, so I completely understood. They were just going to set it out on the street! d:
The furniture is perfect and I am so thankful. ♥
Have you scored anything awesome for free, ever? c: What was it? Do you still have it? Use it often? [sub]ping please[/sub] -hotfox♥

I'm OCD, so I would never take used furniture, unless I could disinfect it.
Hooray for your score, tho!
That's awesome. Free furniture is always a plus.
The latest thing I scored for free was a bunch of books. Some I was able to use for a class on literature, but the rest are just for pure enjoyment. They're sitting on my shelf. I think I scored over $300 in free books in one year.
When I was younger I used to dumpster dive all the time and I was always scoring really nice stuff. We live in a college town and lots of times whatever the kids couldn't fit in got left behind. Tables, a really nice wall mirror, shelves, etc… I stay away from anything with a cushion because I also want to be able to clean everything even if it looks brand new. I also do that with things from the store when they're new. Have you seen what some people let their kids do? lol
I'm also a little OCD. I even asked him if it'd had bed bugs or something, cause I was highly concerned. He said no, but I'm still going to spray that shit down with lysol and even considered bug bombing it. There is no taking furniture unless it can be disinfected. Not for me, anyways. ♥
Holy crap. $300+ in books is definitely a score. ♥ Have you read any of them yet?
I hear you. Dude, people let their children run wild, like rabid animals... lol Though, I don't think I could ever go dumpster diving. Thanks to my paranoia, I would probably panic, worried that I was going to die from all of the fatal diseases that I'd caught from it. d: Though, that is awesome that you got so much nice free stuff!♥

I've seen what kids do to store merchandise when they think no one is looking. The stuff in the dumpster is cleaner! lol
You're [sub]so right[/sub]. I've even seen adults do some pretty nasty things too. It is terrifying.

I've read them all, I think. I had a lot of downtime my first semester of school.
Any suggestions on some good reads? c:
A free $25 cannot be complained about. ♥

Before my old downstairs neighbours moved out, they gave me a little bed-side table with a door that opens. I disinfected that thing like you wouldn't believe. I also scored a 25G fish tank plus stand on the side of the road...
You can just imagine what I did with the stand. I left no germs untouched with MR. Clean lol
People underestimate the magic erasers. Those things eat everything... like acid! d: But 25G. That is pretty nice. Tanks are expensive. ♥
