Hmm. I absolutely loathe my upper arms, so have been looking for shrugs and half jackets, I have a few cardigans and bolero-y shrugs already, but I start back at college in September, and will need more.

This is super simple and I could make it in different colours and materials etc, but, would it be possible to add sleeves?

At the temple, there is a poem called "Loss" carved into the stone. It has three words, but the poet has scratched them out. You cannot read Loss, only feel it.

You could, but you'd probably be better following a 'kimono' pattern, yet still using lace etc. I used a kimono pattern I found via google and make a long sleeved polka dot cardigan out of chiffon, looked awesome!

tbh, that video looks like that shrug will definitely cover most of your upper arms? But if it doesn't, it should be pretty easy to add sleeves in any desired length. You'd need to measure the circumference of the arm hole and sew a tube in the same size, in your wanted length. If the arm hole has an angle to it, you should account for that when sewing the sleeve tube, too, just cut it diagonally in the right angle on the side that you'll attach to the shrug. Hope this helps! Please ping me if you need me to clarify something.

, thanks, that helped a lot. I made one the other night, and it does cover most of my arms, but I did make it SUPER baggy!

I'll play about with measurements etc, and will definitely try to add sleeves on, even if just for practice :)

I have arm insecurities too and I avoid those kind of shrugs, lol. The way they sit on the arm usually makes it even worse, at least for me, since they kind of wrap around the lower upper arm, or else need to be really baggy which doesn't look good either. Seconding the kimono construction idea, or would you be interested in knitting? Lotta cute shrugs.
