I just hope the RE isn't essential for the plot, my avatar is still young and crispy looking and no RE in sight despite heavy questing.

I wouldn't worry about it, I saw on the thread in General Discussion last night that people were starting to get REs (but I haven't really followed the thread at all), but it seems more people are getting it this morning and my HA has faded but I didn't see my RE either. You'll probably get it soon c:

Oh, it's tied to that odd RE? I thought it was just something I hadn't seen yet rather than it being new. That's better than some kind of odd browser error that I needed to troubleshoot.

My thoughts exactly. I'd hate to be left out from the plot because I have no luck with random things. ._.

Im hoping that the random event isnt essential to the plot too as my luck getting things randomly is terrible lol

Wishing you the best of luck! It took me several hours of questing and later mindless clicking until I finally got an event so it seems to be rather rare I'm afraid. :/
