I haven't ever seen this suggested before but if it has been, just lock the topic.
In the past years a lot of the unnamed subeta shopkeepers have been named. Sadly however most of these names tend to dissapear into the obscurity of the news archive not to be seen again for months. Often when you want to know one of their names you have to go months back in the news archive (or read the url of the shopkeeper's picture). When i saw Anne from Quick Bites and Jo from Home Appliances (and more recently Wesley from GoOutside) I got an idea what about giving all named shopkeepers a nametag. I am not saying that we have to edit the art of every shopkeeper but i propose a solution like what they did with Wesley, just put the shopkeepers name above or underneath their picture.
In short: add a name either above or below the picture of the shopkeepers in order to remember their name.
Or yeah, failing a nametag, maybe they could mention their name in their blurb, the way Alexander in Library quests does. I too get confused sometimes when an unfamiliar name pops up and I realize after some time that it's a very familiar NPC.
Support. I love the NPCs and I know a lot of their names just from being on here a while, but some I still have to go to their image source and look for their name in the URL. I'd love if their names were mentioned in the blurbs.
For example:
This dude, I know only because there's a commonly seen sticker with his face and name on it:

This dude, I see him every day and I have no idea who he is:

I think this would be a cute way to add a little bit of focus on the canon of Subeta. Because honestly? Been here for six years, know none of the shopkeepers' names. It's not that they bore me, it's just that I don't want to have to hunt it down. So this would be a nice touch.
Wasn't there use to be an item identifier game (or am i confusing it with item scrambler)?
Maybe we just need an NPC identifier game.

...I don't have any idea who the second dude is either. I have no idea why some of these NPCs were never named, or don't have their name in their url! We are gradually phasing in more names and lore for the keepers, I do love the idea for that NPC identifier game, though.
IN MY HEART HE TOTALLY HAS A NAME. ;A; He looks like he's got a really interesting story, too.
...can't wait to see what'll get phased in eventually, I'm loving the monthly updates. Shopkeeper lore would be really awesome to see more of, definitely! :3
I thought there was going to be an event to also help welcome more npc names, but I guess not :(
Yes, please. I'd love to actually know what the NPCs are supposed to be called instead of "you know, Book Nook Guy".
This would actually be really nice! Sometimes other users reference an NPC by name and I'm just sitting here like...who the hell is that now
and I are thinking up a few ways to handle the NPC name thing. :) Ones that we know have names but aren't reflected in their URL I can easily update. Or do a thing like "Zuzu says Grab your plushies!" on shop pages. :) I like the idea of a "who is this npc" game too!
Full support! The guy with the green hair is also part of the armory... really would like to know more about him. And if he's BFFs with the other guy. :D Oh that would be a cool story!
I would definitely love to see this! Just a name drop someplace on the shop's page would be great.
they/them/theirs, please.
This would be a really nice feature c:

I was desperate to learn the name of the magic shopkeeper, the cute little blond with all the floaty magic stuff, but he was phased out of existence before he even got a name ;_;
I'm all for this. All of them should be named and have characters! Makes me sad seeing new characters made for new shops while book nook guy and green haired guy cry in a nameless corner :(
I would love this! I get so confused about who is who on this site.
I haven't even thought about this since there hasn't really been much need for shopkeeper NPC knowledge, as far as I know... But it would be nice to know their names!
