I'm calling it: one of the best NPC revamps we've gotten to date.

much needed and much improved, I really think it is a lot better.

I kind of preferred the stylization of the old one, to be honest. I felt it really fit the carnival theme.

Having said that, the new one is still super adorable and I can't complain! The added detail is wonderful.

Looks great! I'm still not entirely sure if he's a child wearing a fake mustache or a short adult man lmao I kinda hope Batista and the twins get a revamps someday too!

I have to admit, I was kind of hoping that the Carnival NPCs would never be revamped since they're my favorites. I've always loved the style that they were drawn in and felt it suited them so well, but this is a pretty great revamp either way. Ricardo's still adorable and the clothes look WAY better.

I do prefer his old expression though. We have no shortage of smiling NPCs and one of the things I always liked best about the Carnival NPCs is that they were slightly.. unnerving? I thought Ricardo's blank stare made him fit in well with that theme.

Honestly though, it was just nice to see the Carnival get some attention over the last month.

Finally a kid that doesn't creep me out. I love it.

Nice artwork, but not sure I like Subeta's continuing trend of soulless eyes, not even sure how it's still happening, I can't put my finger on it ;w; I do agree with Kestrel though, as much as I like the revamp.

I think the 'dead eyed' look that weirds me out mostly comes from the eyebrows, but there's a bit of lack of moisture on the eye itself too... But mostly the eye brows seem really tense and surprised rather than relaxed and friendly, and it's... a bit intimidating.

I feel like soulless eyes actually work for a carny kid character. The revamp looks great!

While the old art was charming, I like the added dimension to the colors and shading in the revamp. Very cute!!

The new art is great but i much preferred his old expression, that dead-eyed stare was golden for a creepy carnival kid and now he just looks like a jolly cherub :-(

That shirt, his hands, the hair, those aPPLES. Pretty sure this is one of my new fave revamps for a npc.

(Do we know the artist? I think I recognize the style but I'll be damned if I can remember whose it is.)
