What have you people been up to? How's the weather been? Has it been a good/bad summer for you?
I got my first-ever summer job in May and I feel like my life has basically just revolved around that... I've been really stressed, and I seriously wouldn't have survived July without my boyfriend. :x I'm SO thankful that I only have four days of work left. But I've grown as a person, and I've learned so much, so in that sense things have been good. I'm gonna have ten free days before school starts again, and I was planning on doing some hiking and reading and painting. The weather has been super cold and rainy - I've worn a summer dress only twice or so. It kinda feels like summer hasn't even started yet... Hopefully August will be warm and sunny. :)
Bored outta my mind! Ahem.
No but honestly, I've done nothing but watch anime and TV shows and read mangas. I also finished my pile of book! I'm still not even done with Kuroko no Basuke :c. I've also joined a swim team after almost 10 years of hiatus - it's amazing. I have a meetup in two weeks to prepare for the regional and I have an anime con to attend shortly after. Then, I'll start college again and the nightmare will start.
The weather has been waaay too humid and sketchy. We get sudden cold days and the day after, it's a scorch. I don't go out much because of my sun allergy anyway.
This summer has gone by WAY TOO FAST. I have always felt like summers went by quickly, but holy cow, August starts on Saturday!
Like you, my job has been consuming my summer for the most part. I'm considered seasonal staff (meaning I HAVE to take 3 months off each year) and the bulk of my work is during the summer. I have also spent a lot of my free time with my boyfriend. Fortunately we are only a five minute drive away from each other, so even spending a few hours in the evening is possible.
I think part of the reason why it felt like this summer flew by is because I took a week vacation this year. My boyfriend and his family invited me to go with them, and I gladly accepted because it has been eight years since I've been on vacation!
As for weather, holy cow it has been raining all the time. This past week is the first week we've had all summer where there was not a drop of rain and we actually saw the sun! The problem is that my job takes place outdoors around the various parks of my county, so bad weather can affect my job and can even cut my hours. So that sucks. I live in an area where it rains sometimes, but we never get this much bad weather! That beside, thankfully we didn't get any rain during my vacation xD
Now college starts up in mid-August. I dread it, but I also want to hurry up and get it over with because it will be my last year!
My summer has been very slack so far. I broke my lower leg in two places at the end of April when I was in Italy and had to come home and have surgery, so much of my summer has been spent recovering from that and basically learning how to use my leg again. Thankfully I've healed nicely, and am now able to fully weight-bear, but some days are still more stiff than others and I still walk a little gimpy.
I'm hoping to start working again soon, so I've applied for a few jobs, just mostly part-time-ish to start as I get used to being on my feet for long periods again. I've also been volunteering at one of my city's animal shelters, and that's been a lot of fun too working with both dogs and cats as well as just hanging out with friends, and spending time playing otome games on my iPad, haha!
I've been in summer classes for the last 2 months. I'm glad is over! I start my 2 week break today after my 2 tests. (:
It's been OK, for the most part. Had a nice beach vacation in June. Went wedding dress shopping and ran a 10k a few weeks ago. It really doesn't feel much like summer anymore since I work everyday. But I can't complain.

Finished all my summer classes so it's been a lot of subeta and netflix!

i've spent this whole summer since may working in yellowstone national park and i'm really relieved i'll be leaving next month haha
it's been nice here but i really miss being back home
I've been taking a couple of courses during the summer. I'm glad I did, otherwise I would have been bored out of my mind.
I've been working. Which is what I do most of the time now, since I started this job back in...January, damn. I can't believe I've been here almost 7 months already. This is the first good job I've had. And I actually really like it here. The people, my bosses, the work even...it's pretty great.
When I have days off, I try to get friends and/or family together and go on day trips to different places. I've been kayaking 3 times so far, been to the zoo once, went to a local botanical gardens, been to garage sales pretty much every weekend. And when I have time and the weather cooperates, I hang out by the community pool, go swimming, and lay in the sun. I've been working in the yard too, since this is our first summer here, I've been getting the garden going, weeding like a crazy person, planting things, etc. I'm pretty much busy with something all of the time. Thank God I can go on Subeta at work, lol.
As far as the weather goes, it started out really rainy and kind of cool. Then it started warming up towards the end of June, and now we're in the nasty 90s in July. It's hot, sunny, and humid. Ugh. I hope my new kayak comes soon so I can get back on the river.
Boring and stressful here... :p so looking towards fall and winter xD

My summer has been chaotic and weird. I started teaching at a Montessori school and realized that I absolutely hate working with other people's kids (toddlers). It's a pretty sobering realization, seeing as how I've always thought I'd want to do art therapy with kids. I'm still in the process of getting my masters in psychology; however, this whole experience has thrown my idea of my future career into a haphazard flux. This summer has been one of re-evaluation and soul searching, which is difficult but ultimately outrageously positive. Here's hoping to a more enlightened autumn. :)
I'm definitely a winter person (Canadian winters, at that!), so I tend to hide during the summer months. I'm quite heat-sensitive and the sun doesn't agree with me; I'm pale-skinned, burn in minutes, and I'm allergic to sunscreen. It's usually best if I keep indoors. =P
But my husband and I are starting to re-organize our D&D group - finally. We've been trying to for months now, but he just started getting steady days off at work that can accommodate for it. Yay!
Next weekend is the Highland Games, and I've been looking forward to it for months (the husband and I go every year with his family; big long-standing tradition). It's always lots of fun, despite the sunburns I inevitably come home with. XD
Conflicting. I have a job at Barnes & Noble, which I'd been trying to get for years, and I absolutely love it. I love my team. But I miss my college and my friends there. When I'm home, I'm home alone and I just sit around doing... not much of value, haha. I had some tasks but they're mostly done! I'd like to go back to school already. However, I know once I do, I'll be very stressed, and it also means winter is coming. Which is the worst thing in the world. (I live in the snow belt, up in New York state.)
OVERALL. I would say it has been good. I just think it has run its course.
It was okay until I lost my home 7/17 and my job 7/18 due to being evicted. Awesome summer the rest of the summer is going to be.
A lot of work, moving to my new flat is a lot of work too...but I got into a nice relationship and my new bf is awesome. :3 So my summer wasn't bad at all.
Fiery. Smokey. Reactine-y.
I live in BC in Canada and we have a lot of fires going on unfortunately. That's summer in BC! Besides that though uh, fast? The entire year has been going by fast. It's starting to get really concerning actually.
My summer has been pretty relaxed this year. I am a mom of two young children (Lance who is three and Jackson who is one!). We haven't really done much but go outside and have fun. We're waiting for my husband to come back from his short tour in Korea. Mostly just trying to have as much fun as we can with the Vermont weather permitting and my patience level for the humidity.
My summer has been busy. Been working four days a week (I have two jobs). I get one to three shifts a week where I work in town and one shift a week where I've been working the last 5 years -.- When I have days off, they are mostly not to myself; I take my mom on her errands (I don't live far from my parents, so I get to use their vehicle sometimes) however, when I have a day off, I don't feel like doing anything.
I live by myself, so I pick one day a week to clean my pets cages and the house.
We have had a few heat wave warnings and if I could, I went in my parents pool to cool off.
