I used to have super full thick hair... I was also a tad bit overweight... I lost about 60 pounds in 7 months and since my weight loss has stopped my hair is thinning like crazy. The doctor said not to worry because it'll be restored on its own and I wont go bald, but it will be thinner and thin from anywhere to 2-4 months.

I'm not sure if it was worth it if my hair keeps thinning like crazy ;-; I wont look good with no hair xD

Has anyone experienced this with weight loss... or perhaps just thinning hair in general?

Im already taking biotin, rogaine topical, and fish oil.

Any other suggestions? Any help is appreciated! Thank you! ^-^

Have you tried any type of shampoo that gives volume?

Only one so far... and it doesnt seem to help as it makes my hair greasier which means I have to wash it more, which the doctor advised I dont wash it every day. So I have been looking online for other shampoos but havent picked one yet.

If you're looking for a new shampoo see if you can find something that's chemical, sulfate, and paraben free. Sometimes the junk they add to shampoos and conditioners actually do more harm to our hair than good. And definitely take your doctor's advice and don't wash it every day! Washing hair with shampoos can strip the hair of its natural oils and sometimes causes it to be greasier/oilier. This may not be the case for your hair though, but it could be something to think about as you try some solutions for the thinning. I wash my hair every other day (sometimes every 2 days) and I've found over time it has become less oily and even looks better a day after the wash.

Congrats on your weight loss, btw! :)

I would tell you what said. The absence of harsh chemical, sulfates, and parabens will help immensely. I started using full organic, chemical-free shampoo about a month ago and my hair feels so much better. I would also suggest taking a multivitamin if you don't already. As far as hair products go, I would suggest Avalon Organics Biotin B Complex Thickening Shampoo and Not Your Mother's Plump for Joy Hair Lifter.

I second the Not Your Mother's brand, I use their sea salt texture spray and I love it!

I use that too!! :D HAIR TWIIIIIINS. I love their Grow It, I think it's called? It's got Procapil in it and I think it's actually helping my hair grow faster.

HA hair twins AND real life hair twins! :D

I've only used their sea salt spray so far (it smells sooo good) but I'd love to try another product from them.

I tried the Grow It just in the spray conditioner, but I'm thinking I'm going to get the whole set (shampoo, conditioner, etc.) next time.

Maybe try prenatal vitamins? They've got all the crap your body could ever need in them and then some. They're good for hair growth. :u Massaging something with mint or menthol into your scalp also stimulates the hair follicles. (The massaging alone does that, but the minty stuff gives it an extra kick.) Otherwise, you could try something like Nioxin.
