I'm curious about the block list. I was cleaning out my sMail box and I clicked on the block list. I'd blocked someone in the last year for spamming my comment box and at that time I had no one who'd blocked me. Someone now has me blocked. I'm not necessarily concerned about it since I have no idea who they are but I am curious about it nonetheless. I changed my UN earlier this year and I'm curious if this could be something that carried over? At the beginning there was also someone who'd tagged me a couple times in the forums and left me profile comments thinking I was someone else.

Also, am I the only one that think's it a little strange that we get a list of those who've blocked us? From what I understand it doesn't matter who blocked who it's all the same access wise. I guess it matters when it is someone you know who blocks you?

No I find it very odd we get a list of who has blocked us and I don't like it. It could just be someone who randomly blocked you, someone did that to me. I am not sure if it could have been carried over from the old user's blocklist...

If you change your username the people you've blocked and those that blocked you are carried over to the new name. If the former owner of your username blocked others and/or was blocked by someone these won't be carried over of course. :)

I'm still pretty new and wasn't aware of this feature until now, but it seems pretty wrong/weird to know who's blocked you. I feel like that just paves the way for friction and pettiness, and it's not necessary.

It is not wrong to know who has blocked you because here on Subeta a block, it is NOT a two-way thing. If someone has blocked you they can't see what you have written, but you CAN see what they have written. A block on someone is essentially an "I don't wanna see this user". If the feeling is mutual, then you would want to block them too, but that is up to you entirely.

You can of course block any person back, even for no reason. Unlike more childish sites like Neopets, this doesn't mean anything and doesn't need to be laden. Many people do this. They don't get along with you? So what. You are blocking them back not in a punitive way, but because it is against the rules to try to contact in any way someone who has blocked you you are saving your ass from any official action especially if they just don't register on you.

Therefore it is not troublemaking gratuitous information to know who has blocked you. You need to know.

You're not allowed to try and contact someone who has you blocked, but I think there are ways to contact them that don't give you an error (I think you can still bid on their trades, for example). It just tells you who not to contact so you don't get in trouble

Exactly

Blocking shouldn't be a two-way street because I don't want people who block for petty reasons to dictate what I see on Subeta.

I've been blocked by one person and I have no idea who the heck this person is. I had to block them back cos I don't want to be banned for somehow accidentally 'making contact' with them like when posting on threads they've made.

You can post on threads people that have you blocked, as long as you adress the topic, not the person.
