TC and Species Help: Goodwill

Hi everyone! I recently created a pet named Goodwill, and I'm now seeking help in choosing what exactly to do with him.
As for his color, I'm almost certain that I would like to make him Nostalgic for obvious reasons. I'm kind of stumped as to which species, though. Below are a few of my personal favorites, but I don't know what's most 'fitting.' I'm open to any other suggestions as well. :)

As for the treasure chest, I've got a few items in there already and a wishlist category started for him. I feel like it's got a ton of potential, though, that I'm missing and I could sure use some others' suggestions to add. I'm essentially just looking for anything that you could find in a thrift store - any old looking items, outdated technology, used toys, vintage items or clothing, the list goes on. I'm also not yet sure whether or not I should repeat items that come in different color variations, since a real thrift store is unlikely to have them stocked, so any input on whether or not I should would be great.
I haven't chosen a minion, yet, either. It's not exactly a priority, but any suggestions are greatly appreciated. :)

the devonti or the noktoa because both have this homespun feel to them.
as for items:
they're part of a species set for each individual subeta species so it's up to you if you just want one or all of them. -also part of a set - set, but one should suffice since they're all recolors of the same bird plushie.

i would suggest the noktoa, because it looks more patchwork and mended.
