So, the way the foods eaten page used to be set up allowed you to simply Cntrl+F and find any food item you wanted in a second or two. Now, with the way it's setup (multiple pages of food eaten instead of one giant page), you can no longer easily look up a food type. For example, I'm in the atebus shop at the moment, and I see the row of starpops. I want to check to see if my pet has eaten any of them. Currently, I have to account search each and every single one, or flip back and forth through the foods eaten page endlessly, since they obviously won't be grouped together due to alphabetization. If we had a mini search for the foods eaten page, I could just type in 'starpop', and see which ones pop up as already being eaten. Same with 'donut' items, 'bagel' items, 'potato', etc.

Thoughts?

So I'm gonna maybe be pedantic real quick, but in truth I am not trying to be catty, because I am so far removed from Gourmand stuff - but foods eaten by a pet show up as such in Account Search, wouldn't that be exactly the same amount of steps, maybe less, than navigating to the foods eaten page?

Well if you're looking for a specific group of items rather than a single item, it would be more convenient to just go through the foods eaten instead of opening mulitple tabs of the account search.

But you'd still have to look up a list somewhere and make sure you have them all or not, so you might as well just make a Subetalodge list imo

Ah, hadn't thought in terms of groups of items. My Gourmand achievement road was the casual realization that I was already like 800 items in, and might as well get the original achievement, so I'm definitely not down with all the lists and such. I worship chaos, I guess.

Subetalodge did me good for finishing mine, though, so I would assume between that site and the existence of foods eaten on account search, bases are pretty covered.

I would LOVE this! I use a list on SubetaLodge to keep track of foods/books/collections, but it would be super helpful to have something other than Account Search to search through collections.

Yeah I agree. Basically when I started, I went and bought up all the items in the main shops and then mass added my eaten list + vault page where I kept unfed foods to my Subetalodge list, restocked what I could from there and then just started going through the list buying up stuff.

These days I mostly buy new items when they're released (seasonal shops, quest shops, etc.) because I stopped caring after I hit the 5k tier, but since I already came this far I might as well go for 6k too

Just to throw another thought out there in regards to the SubetaLodge thing, as much as I like and use that site, Subeta should be functional/useful enough to stand on its own, not rely on 3rd party sites to help its users.

Yeah, actually Subeta's account search feature alone makes it by far easier to navigate than any of the other pet sites I've played. So copy and paste the names of the items from the shop into the account search. Yes, it's an extra step. Not even though, because you would have to copy and paste it into the foods eaten page? But try having a high intel pet on Neopets, or a Gourmand pet. You need like. Four websites and a petpage to keep up with it, it's insane. Or avatars, my God.

I just don't think Subeta needs to hand us everything, personally. Sure, it would be a bit easier (or at the very least different?), but it's already very easy the way it is.

I have always used the SubetaLodge features for collections etc because it is easy to handle. Especially for my Gourmand Pet. Whenever I've lost track at some point (like forgetting to add it on SubetaLodge) I used the Accout Search and could add the Items on SubetaLodge as well after being sure my Pet ate the Items. I don't really think we need a Search function on the Foods Eaten page considering that we have Account Search, but if Staff adds a search funtion in Foods Eaten I think it will be very useful for some Users.

I don't know, like others have said there's the Account Search. Which basically does what you're asking anyway and then there's also Subeta Lodge. Those two combined work pretty well and I just don't really see this being too useful. I see this turning into "can we get one on the beanbag/sticker/plushie/trading card/books read pages too. When again, the Account Search does all this.

This is a big problem I have with the subeta community. They want everything handed to them. Everyone bitched and moaned about stickers. Every other day a new suggestion thread is up about auto-adding stuff into collections. Some things are supposed to be tedious and take time and effort. The suggestions board should be about genuinely providing suggestions to improve the site, not make something that only takes 5 seconds even easier. Sorry, rant over.

The complaints about stickers were actually well-founded though? I never saw anyone complain about stickers because of the fact that it was easier to stick themselves, though I'm sure those people were out there. It was about having to bother someone else so that you could trust them with your stickers becuase staff wouldn't reimburse you if something happened to them. It's a totally different situation (though I otherwise agree with you)

Yeah, I feel like if you put in a search for foods eaten, it will need to happen for all other collections. It would be only fair. ;x I wouldn't mind having one though even when account search / subetalodge fix the problem.
