Newbie looking for answers

Hi all! I've been playing Subeta for a couple of weeks, maybe? And I am still using only the most basic features, that I could understand thanks to previous experience with virtual pet sites. However, I still have many doubts...
For instance, I couldn't find a list of achievements with explanations on how to get them. The one in this site has no explanation for some of them, and I don't find SubetaLodge to be much more helpful for newbies either.
Another thing, for exaple, would be that I don't understand how to use a profile layout.
Aaand I am also looking for some way of knowing what some items are for. I mean, there's the obvious, food, weapons, toys, wardrobe... and then there are some coins ans stuff like that, that look like they are more than just items, and it makes me nervous... because I couldn't find any list of items and theyr uses...
I know that they are a lot of questions... I think I'm spoiled from TND and it's overly informative way of presenting info...
The items you don't know the uses for can usually be found on Subetalodge, which you've already found. I don't use a profile layout so I unfortunately can't help you there. But if you have specific achievement questions, you might want to just ask about those?
Quite a few are seasonal, so you can't get them right now even if they're still active, but the others seem self-explanatory to me, it's just a matter of finding the items/locations/etc.
The achievements list on this site should explain most of them, but there are some ambiguous ones. Any in particular? :)

Coins can be used in the Coin Machine in Centropolis - here. Subetalodge should explain a lot of items but it's cool to have surprises too. Again, any in particular I can help with? :)

To find a list of Achievements go Personal - Achievements. To find an explanation, this is a bit harder. Most of them seem self-explanatory to me. You can certainly ask about them here. Have you tried the Subeta Wikia? Maybe it'll have answers. There is also an Achievements subforum in the grouping called Subeta Features. The users who hang out there are really into achievements and can help you with any specific questions you may have.
I don't know anything much about Coding, but there's a Profiles & Graphics subforum.
Not all items have a use. Some are just cool or rewards to show you've done something, or are something a pet that is into that kind of thing would keep in their Treasure Chest. In the end this is a game of virtual items and virtual pets, so they're just pixels on your screen. Either you think they are fun and you keep them, or you don't and you sell them.
Some coins are useless, some coins are wearables, some excessively rare ones can be used in the Gym Vending Machine and you are better off selling them, and some can be used in the Coin Machine that is in the lower west side of Centropolis (take the subway).

As far as the achievement thing, there's a category called "Legacy", I think? And most of those seem to have comments instead of info on how to get them...

Legacy achievements are achievements from the first system that came out. They are now retired and no longer available, unfortunately.
