Yeah, that would be my neighbors - morons with fireworks. They were blowing shit off until 3 in the morning. Never mind people like myself who have to get up at 6:45 in the morning to go to work. Who cares about people that work?! Not them. Fucking idiots. My cats were scared, the birds outside were freaking out, I was worried about rockets landing on my house, and the worst part - I barely slept 3 hours. All because these fucking idiots had to have their funsies blowing shit up. And it's probably going to happen again tonight. Because they're selfish assholes who can't think about anyone but themselves.

And then of course there's my community's manager (manufactured home community), who even though she put out notes in everyone's mailbox, telling people of the community's "rule" for no goddamned fireworks, she didn't bother being out last night to enforce anything. She doesn't enforce any of the rules, as far as I can see. People aren't supposed to park on the street (but they do), they aren't supposed to have grass/weeds over 12" (they do), they aren't supposed to keep kids' toys/lawn equipment/etc. all over their lawns (surprise - they do), they're supposed to clean up after their dogs (they don't), they're not supposed to scream/horseplay in the pool (they do of course)...there's so many things that people get away with because they know our manager won't do shit about it. I'm sick of it. I'm going to the manager's manager soon if she doesn't shape up.

So...get any sleep last night/this morning? Your community's manager useless? Etc. related?

Well, no matter how moronic they are, there can always be someone dumber. I'm sorry they kept you up so late, though, that sucks so bad. Sounds like you do need to go to the manager's manager, since she seems to be pretty worthless. :-/

No fireworks, but idiot neighbors who are noisy when other people want to sleep.

Summer in Finland is very bright, so bright that you can read a book outdside almost to midnight without light from lamp. Dark time lasts only couple of hours between 1 and 4, so people can be very sleep deprived without any help from other people. And because it's so bright and lots of people have their summer vacation so they don't need to get up early some people completely forget that there are other people that would like to keep their daily rythm same all year because they have work or families with kids or just because.

I live in apartment building in a city so I'm used to normal car noise. There are even few night clubs and pubs along the street so it's not like the street I'm living on is quiet. I don't know exactly which of my neighbors it is, but someone has this car looking vehicle (but it's not a car or a moped car, I have no idea what it actually is, it looks more like toy than actual vehicle) that keeps ROARING every time when the engine is started and while it's moving. It's not a sound that would come car engine, I'm sure of it. They usually drive it after 11 o'clock in the night to leave somewhere and come back after 3 in the morning and they wake up pretty much everyone who lives in all of the apartment buildings this street. I'm pretty sure thay wake up everyone in every house they pass on their way. I would think they have gotten so much tickets already (there is also police depertment further along this street and they hear the noise too) that they would stop, but no. They drove it again last night and I wasn't only one in my building and the building on the other side of street that lost their sleep for the night because of them. They must have regular car too so I don't get why they don't use it during the summer instead of that weird thing that's as loud as helicopter passing over. And yes, to my grief I have been able to compare the two. They are probably deaf by now if they weren't already when they first got that vehicle, that is the only explanation I can think for their defence for causing that much noise when other people want to sleep.

So I haven't been able to sleep until the morning for about a week now.

I hope you can sleep next night well and that your neighbors let you sleep. They have to run out of stuff to blow up at some point, hopefully they already have.

4th of July's been my least favorite holiday since I can remember precisely because of the firework craziness. .___.; I'm sorry you couldn't catch a break from your annoying neighbors and I hope you get a better community manager. That level of laziness is inexcusable. ;x

Luckily I don't live in the US anymore, so no 4th of July fireworks. YAY. :D

But if that had been my neighbor, he'd be dead so he couldn't cause any more problems, lol. I mean...I feel bad for that stupid guy, but Darwin award much? XD And yeah, one more incident of any kind and I'm off to the higher up.

That would certainly be scary having them set off right in your 'backyard' so to speak. In California personal fireworks are illegal but no one around here, including law enforcers give a shit. The entire week of the fourth you can hear 'em everywhere. Ironically most pominently in the vacinity of the City show where there are multiple policemen around to maintian traffic.

Last year I caught one exploding right behind one of the houses right across the street from my house. This year right after the city show ended which my mom and I were able to watch from in front of our next door neighbor's house, a couple very strong ones were set off that were extremely loud, caused a huge flash in the sky, and even set off a car alarm or two. It was seriously like someone had thrown a bomb down on the ground. That was just overboard.

I can't stand the firework chaos during the 4th of July. The week leading up to it, and the week following it people keep setting off fireworks at all hours of the night. This past month was the worst. Somebody had one of those bomb like sounding things that went off a few times, just like experienced. I had to check something on the roof a few days ago and found remains of one of those large bomb-things on my roof! That could have started a fire up there!

My dad, his brother, and his friends used to have firework fights (literally, they'd shoot fireworks at each other -- like paint ball, but with explosives) and I thought that was at the top of the "stupid things you definitely shouldn't do with fireworks" list, but... that's, uh. That's got it topped. Wow.
