Hey there, two quick-ish questions to ask, please keep in mind that I'm returning after quite a few years away.

1. I'd really like to change my pet names; even if that means abandoning them & getting new ones. But at the moment it says "You are using 8 of your 5 pet slots."

Two issues there, the first being I have no idea how I managed to get 8 in the first place, and the second would be that i assume if i abandon my current ones I'll be back to having a maximum of five, therefore having to abandon four before I could create a new one. Is that how it works?

If that's the case then how did I get 8 previously? Why did the cap revert to five at some point?

2. I've got a weird avatar effect from an event a few years back (Valentines, I think?) and I've got the item that apparently cures it, but what I'd like to know is if there's any sort of benefit at all to keeping it. Is there anything I can do with it or is it just a "I was here for an old event" kind of bragging right?

I can help with the first question. You probably had a Gold Account at some point in the past. A GA allows you to adopt 5 additional pets, but only while the GA is active. Once it expires, your pet allotment goes back to what it was before, but you are allowed to keep any additional pets you adopted while it was active.

You are correct in your assumption that in order to adopt one new pet you will first have to abandon 4, but you do have some other options. You could buy a Gold Account, which would up your pet allotment back to 10 while it's active. Or you could simply pay CSC to directly change your pets' name.

Now, instead of curing, you can go into the beta wardrobe, under the "skins" button and convert it into a skin which you can put on and take off whenever you want. [/font]

Just a note that if you go to this page you should recieve some achievements along with a 1 Week GA Medal and a few Loyalty Boxes, if you've been gone for a few years. There's a totem available in the Loyalty Box that will give you a free pet slot. There are also totems for username (and I think pet name) changes, among other things. Side note, they're sometimes broken so if you don't get the right number of boxes, you'll need to file a ticket (but as far as I know, the achievements never broke so that should help you figure out how many boxes you're due c: )
