So I rarely change my HA. The last time I did, you couldn't use a backdrop without seeing the HA base.

I had used the backdrop layer to make my HA look neat and tidy. If I were to remove my current backdrop, my HA would look like this. I put some circles around the spots that my backdrop covers up.

Now for my problem. I love many of the new backdrops that have been introduced to Subeta since I've last changed my HA. However, if I put the backdrop on the same layer that my current one is at, my HA looks like the image to the left. If I were to move the layer to underneath all my items and/or base, then it would look like the image to the right. Is there anyway I can use the wardrobe and layers like I have before to make my HA look a little more neat without random bits of clothing poking out? Or is this just a thing in the past and I just gotta deal with the change? Don't get me wrong, I do love the change and people have made some pretty epic and awesome HAs because of it. I'm just being picky and thought it wouldn't hurt to ask if anyone had any ideas xD I also hope that what I'm trying to ask makes sense!

And if it matters, I have attempted this on both the original and beta wardrobes. I get the same results regardless of which I use.

forgive me if I am saying something wrong but I don't think it is possible. I usually do things with layering and if I want to hide the things that "overtake" the HA, I just get to hide them with a background that goes 'all around' the HA and not one of the new backgrounds that take the whole HA ?! There's not much choice, I am afraid :c Let's wait to see if someone else has an idea!

Unfortunately, the HA cutout is the part that's making your HA look "neat and tidy" as you put it, so without the cutout, there's nothing to hide the edges of the layers you want hidden. You'll need to use a background with the cutout to get the same effect

Actually I just remembered an item, well that might not be your taste but there is this : that could go just all around your HA and you'd put it over the layers you don't want to see overtake on the HA if that makes sense ? Maybe there are other similar items but I don't know them.

Yep, I've run into the exact same problem. I haven't found an optimum solution. However, with new foreground type items that can cover your feet, things that make fog on the ground, items that tint the entire HA and many more items that now show up partially in front of the HA, I've managed one way or another, to make things work how I want. If nothing else, I end up using an old style background even if a new one would work better.

The Hustler's liquid shadow items can help, if you can't remove the "extra bits" entirely, sometimes you can blend them into the background so they aren't apparent. Sometimes the cutout items can help too.

I don't think it's possible, unfortunately. Sorry.

Thank you all for your responses. I honestly didn't expect it to be possible but thought it wouldn't hurt to see if anyone thought otherwise. I will probably just find items that can conveniently cover up those spots/make it not as noticeable and just put up with the parts that I can't do anything about. Thanks for your suggestions!
