I understand that for most pet slots on site you need to have a GA before you can get an additional slot. However, I think the rule should be changed if getting a pet slot with a loyalty totem. I don't understand why you would have to pay for your loyalty prize in the sense of the term. You get a pet slot, yet you need to either purchase or have a GA before that slot can be used. I think that that's fair if you're getting regular additional pet slots, but for the annual slot? Seems like a kind of weird way of thanking someone for your loyalty. "Thanks for your loyalty! Here, you can choose a pet slot totem out of the choices. Oh by the way - you also need to buy a GA to activate it. Have fun and thanks once again!"
Something about that just doesn't feel right XD Why pay for a thank you gift? This should be re-evaluated, I think.

I had kind of just assumed it was the way the pet slots functioned. But I've also heard mixed things about whether you need a GA or not (I had always heard that yes, you needed a GA to access more than 5 slots whether they were paid/earned or whatever, but I've heard that you don't as long as they're still open without a GA, i.e. if your pets page says something like 13 out of 15 pets)
I feel like this would further complicate things, if it's even possible to code. And which slots would get filled first, Loyalty Box slots or paid slots?
You do not need a GA to activate it.
This is the number of slots I am allowed when I have a GA activated
This is the number of slots I am allowed to use when I do not have a GA. Remember, a GA grants you five slots.
If I was given a slot, I could use it if I had a GA, because
If I did not have a GA, I still couldn't use the slot, because
I'd have one more slot, but still have too many pets for the number of non-GA slots I'm allowed.
Finally, without a GA, if the user has less pets than slots
They'd be able to use the slot because they have free slots.
In the end, the GA is only useful if you NEED the five slots from the GA for the number of pets you have
I DID IT YESTERDAY.
I WENT DOWN TO LIKE 34 PETS OUT OF 42 SLOTS YESTERDAY, and I could adopt pets without a GA fine.
But yes, you can absolutely have more than 5 pets without a GA active, as long as you have the slots. The GA is only, only, ONLY used for the last five slots.
omg your Irion rainbow. So if you were down to 34... does that mean you adopted 13 pets in a day? would totally be me if I had the slots I want to buy more pet slots so badly, but I told myself I can't until I finish profiles and stories for the pets I have ^X^;
Anyway, I think what was saying if you had a GA but let it expire, so you had five pets over your non-GA limit, THEN got the totem... you'd have to activate a GA again to take advantage of the totem? Because otherwise it would show you were four pets over your limit, instead of five, once you used the totem? Correct me if I got it wrong, Wolf_Spirit.
Since one week GAs are pretty cheap, it wouldn't be too much of an inconvenience to buy one to get the slot. But still, I get that it's the principle of the thing.
pretty much (pokes below to my comment to darkrai)
- if you haven't bought any slots then none of those slots would be filled. If it's code-able, maybe there could be a difference between the two slots. Either that or have a 1 day GA come with the Pet Slot Totem so that you are given the complete package thank you gift and can get your pet without having to resort to buying something on top of the totem which doesn't make sense in the first place

Yeah if you haven't bought any slots they wouldn't be filled, that's not really what I was asking? If you have a Loyalty Box slot, and you buy a pet slot, which one gets filled first? Because one will let you fill it without a GA (regardless of pet count) and one will not (unless you have less than that number of pets).
I definitely don't support giving a 1-day GA with the pet slot. I know it wouldn't really make a difference overall but you're choosing the pet slot totem, not the GA totem.
Overall I'd say I'm indifferent, it would be nice to not need a GA if I don't have one at the time when my Loyalty Box comes in but I also don't mind having to buy one/waiting to fill my pet slot until I feel like using one.
12, actually, I forgot I already had Valken!
Yups, this is what I understood!
But yeah, if you're using the benefits of the five-GA slots, it's normal for you to have a GA activated to use them.
GA slots are last in priority, because they're temporary, so when you activate the totem, you go from 5 GA slots used to 4 GA slots used + a vacant GA slot that you'd need a GA to fill
That's not unfair at all.
Pretty sure GA slots fill last.
the 1 day would just give you enough time to get a pet and that would be that. It'd just keep you from having to pay for half of the thank you gift. Once you get your pet the GA would cancel out. So it'd be more like an up to one day account. I just can't see it being fair to be made to pay for half a thank you gift lol

I get it, I'm just indifferent about the suggestion tbh, I don't see the need for it but I don't care if it's implemented.
That makes sense, but I mean specifically with Loyalty Box vs. paid slots. Because this suggestion would require a differentiation and I'm not sure there is one currently?
I don't think there is a difference between paid/loyalty for the order the slots are filled in, only for how many you're allowed to have. :D
I think most people buy the GA to get more pets right at that moment because
I, personally, am not effected by this since I usually have a GA activated anyway, and I completely understand your explanation.
Idk, maybe when someone chooses the pet slot option, they can also purchase a 1-week GA for its sP price (because damn that shit is still inflated, and so is CSC). Then they really can't bitch because they're getting the benefits of a GA for dirt cheap (3mil for real what even is life)
[edit] Oh and make that shit auto-activate so no one can profit. MWUHAHAHAH no but really that makes sense.
