Hello guys!

I just have a question, since I have such a low count of fragmentizer crystals. I get that this is pretty common, but I thought since everything in the shop is priced SO high, there has to be a better way to get crystals... right? Maybe, like, 1/30th of the stuff I frag has any chance of giving me a crystal? Maybe that's how it's supposed to be, but I feel like, if it was, there's no way anyone could afford any of it. c; Maybe we can't.

For example, I can get hot dogs to give me crystals probably 3/4 of the time, but not always. However, I've fragged plenty of more expensive things than hot dogs, and they don't give me any crystals at all. I figure there has to be some method to this madness. Perhaps food gives more crystals? Clothes don't? Something of the sort, you know? I also have a conspiracy theory that when I frag things individually, there's a better chance of me getting a crystal, but that's probably just chance and me being suspicious. But if it isn't, then I feel like SOMEONE would have noticed a pattern by now.

ANYWAY, I've gone through maybe 50 pages of forums where I figured maybe there'd be a topic about it, but I cannot for the life of me find anything fragmentizer related (save a few posts asking where it is). Does anyone have some forum topics re: fragging properly or a guide or advice, or anything at all? I feel like I'm doing something wrong.

Thanks in advance!

Higher rarities have a greater chance of getting crystals. Rares and Super Rares are guaranteed to provide crystals, IIRC. So go for higher rarities that are available for lower than the cost of Humming Power Crystals. (I'd give you a list, but I stopped fragging for goals forever ago, I just frag what's worth less than 1k after questing)

Personally I just mass buy + mass frag a ton of cheap items. I don't pay attention to the rarity at all because I tend to get crystals about 1/3 of the time regardless (and that's way too much work when I'm already trying to convince myself to frag things, jfc it's so boring)

Thank you so much for the help! c:

Y'know, thank god it's not just me. I thought maybe I'd be wasting time fragging nonsense, but I'm relieved to know you can at least make some profit from it (esp when you can't sell those items well in the first place). So, would vending mass amounts of near-worthless stuff and fragging them be a possibility too? I REALLY like the idea of using the quest stuff and not having to price it (normally I don't have a GA).

It surprises me that there's not more of a science to this, but if blindly throwing things at the Fragmentizer is the way to do it, then away I go. c; I still don't know why hot dogs play nicely with fragging, but it must be coincidence.

Also, you're saying that rares of all user shop prices will theoretically frag the same? So you'd get the same amount of crystals from a 4k rare and, for example, a 20k priced rare? And that a 20k common item would have a lower chance of fragging a crystal? Just to clarify.

Sorry to bother you, but again, thanks so much! It was awesome of you all to answer.

Yeah, the amount of crystals is based on rarity only. So don't buy the 20k commons and expect to get crystals because it's (probably, idk what rarities the cutoffs are at) not guaranteed. I do definitely vend for fragging items sometimes, though. I generally buy up to ~500 sP or so, more depending on how badly I need crystals (aka how soon the items are being retired lmao)

Anything with a 66+ rarity has a definite chance of getting one crystal. The higher the rarity, the slightly higher chance to get more crystals. (86-98 is 1-1.5 and 99 is 1-2.5) (oops messed that up sorry)

You can always buy lots of super cheap stuff and frag them and hope for crystals (which I sometimes too) but really it's better to find 66+ that are cheaper than the price of the humming crystals, and just buy a bunch of those. That's how I get mine. I stocked up 18k in two days before they emptied the shop. Also, if you vend, you'll get about half the amount of crystals as items you vend, usually a little less. But it's easy, and that's what I do with all the non-profitable stuff I don't want to throw in my shop.

Super helpful numbers, thank you so much! I'll definitely save those. I see where you're coming from re: fragging just the 66+ items.

Since you mentioned, is there any easy way of finding items by rarity or is that just a pipe dream? I'm certain some items don't show up in the fragmentizer, and those aren't eliminated through regular search (here or on subetalodge). Are just holiday/special items excluded from fragging, or is there a different sorting system for that as well?

holiday, special, game prize, and i believe cash shop + artifact (could be wrong on that one) items aren't accepted by the fragmentizer. you can search items by rarity on subetalodge (i think searching from 66 to 100 is a pretty good range).

My savior. Thank you so much for that list, I'll be sure to avoid them. I also couldn't get my inventory's retired items to work, but I don't know if that was a few-item fluke or not.

Rarity 1 - 65 is roughly a 33% chance of a crystal. Rarity 66 - 85 guaranteed 1 crystal. Rarity 86 - 99 guaranteed 1 crystal and a chance of a second crystal.

I've never fragged anything higher than R86, at least on purpose, so I don't know what the chance of getting a second crystal is but I don't think it's worth it to frag those items at all.

Ahh Frenchi beat me too it. But yep, Subetalodge. I do 66-99, and I sort rarity low>high, then just search for days. ^.^;

Hah, sounds like a blast. I'll set off to trudge through those items, then! Thanks to all, again! Let me know if you have any more advice! You've all been such a big help.

whenever I'm doing a quest and one of the items requested is less than 500sP I open up a separate new Subeta window with that item in the Search Shops box. After the quest is over, I buy ALL of them for either fragging now or recycling later. Cleaning out everyone of this whatever cheap item runs my crystal totals up pretty quick.

Most of the stuff being put into the shop are stuffs that serious collectors only are interested in because they've been rare to start with or are very old items and most of these items are completely unavailable otherwise. The UAs that put stuff in the CS do so at a crystal price that is comparable to the sP price of crystals if you bought the crystals from someone else who did the framentizing for you. This is why the prices seem so high. You'd only get these items if you want them yourself, they're probably not good sellables. If you're aiming for profit you could just whang your Humming Power Crystals in your shop and someone who wants some specific thing can then buy them from you to buy whatever they want instead of whatever you bought on spec.

What said about restockables being the fragmentizeables, but there's teh odd exceptions. Floating Survival flowers did a weird rarity switch this year, where they were in Seedlings restocking and floating at the same time, so they were fraggable. I did thousands of them. But after the season was over, they got converted to Game Prize rarity.

It used to be that Super Rare items could give you 1-3 crystals each, but for the last few weeks or so, they've only given me one crystal each. Even when fragging around 50 Super Rare items at a time, I only got exactly one crystal per item. I don't know if this has been specifically changed, or if there's a bug.
