Anyone watch True Detective? I'm all caught up and started the first episode of season 2 but its so hard to wait an entire week for a new episode xD
is it just me or was Season 1 way better? I miss Rust Cohle and Matthew McConaughey so much.

I'm also wondering if Colin Farrell's character Ray bit the dust or not? If he did that is some crazy twist right there to kill off a big hollywood star so early in the show.

I watched the first season of True Detective and am warming up to the second season. Everything seemed so weird to me, including the opening theme. The first episode, though, I was very drunk watching it on real-time after a Sunday wedding, haha. I have since watched the first episode sober before the second episode aired and I'm liking it a lot better.
Episode One SPOILERS
I enjoy the back-story of the three detectives (Ray [Colin Farrell], Paul [Taylor Kitsch], Ani [Rachel McAdams]) and mafia-dude gone straight Frank (Vince Vaughn) and how their lives are tied together. This is the part that confused me the most when I drunkenly watched this episode. On the second viewing, there were a lot of things I knew I'd missed -- the raven mask while Casper is being transported, for example. This is a great play-by-play resource!! And Paul is Taylor Kitsch? No way, he looks like my friend's brother with short hair like that, haha
Episode Two SPOILERS
I'm not entirely sure how I feel about Ray being "dead." I noticed the missing raven along the wall of mounted animal heads, and sure didn't like seeing that shiny black car parked in front of the house!! Wondering if he was wearing a bullet-proof vest. His talk with Ani about being honest and then not answering her question -- cut to her, watching porn then getting off of the phone to watch said porn. Is she doing it to identify victims, or is she enjoying it? What's up with her?! My boyfriend thinks maybe Frank himself is the raven-mask guy since they're both tall, but I'm not so sure as that!

I've only watched the first season and I'm obsessed. I'm really skeptical about season 2 but we will see. I don't see how they could possibly have as good of a story line or cast this time 'round but they might surprise me, who knows!
Towards the beginning I was really skeptical about the second season, but towards the end it came around for me. Great series albeit it has the typical Hollywood sexism
