If your pets are in the resort or have a minion attached, it will keep them at full happiness and they won't be able to play with toys. You'll need to take them out of the resort and take their minion away, then wait for their happiness to drop before you can play with them.

Your Pet says a toy is boring because their happiness is 10/10. Not only the resort does that, but also if you attach a Minion to your Pet it stays happy at 10/10. (:

So for this type of Major Drills Quests it would be good to have a Pet without Minion so you can buy toys for it. (:

What I usually do is I throw all my pets in the resort at once, because I'm hella lazy and wow what a nice perk for GAs... but on the pet page, under each pet, it has the option to remove the pet from the resort, so what I do right after I put them all in is I take out my gourmand and my Drills pet. I'm not even that worried about the money thrown away because like, it's just easier to put them all in at once and take the two out.

Great tips there. I took out 1 to be Drills pet. I'm lazy too, so, yes, throwing them all in at once is what I do, too. Your way sounds best. 1 by 1 can be time consuming. Thank for the tips, everyone, you've been all helpful.
