So back when I first learned about Item Hunt, I read somewhere that once you finished L100.. that was it. It didn't reset or anything like that, you just finished the level and then you couldn't play the game anymore. Is that still a thing? I'd like to know before I actually get there.
well, that's a complicated answer at the moment XD It didn't, for a long time. Then they introduced some tomes into the Millionaire Center that you could use to reset it. THEN a couple/few weeks ago they took that option away.
SO LONG STORY SHORT-ISH no, as of right now you can't reset the game. Once you reach Level 100, you've beaten it and you're done.
It is indeed still a thing - once you complete level 100 of Item Hunt you can no longer play any more.

Well that stinks. =( Thanks for the answer, guys. Do you know.. why it's like that? Just curious if there's an actual reason.
there were a lot of issues with item prices/that whole system, and the game was pulling items that were cheaper than they were meant to be, etc., so a lot of people were able to beat it recently, and the price of the Swashbuckle plummeted much farther than they had ever intended it to. So they changed it back.
And yet, from what I've seen, they refuse to admit that all the extra Swashbuckles had ANYTHING to do with Item Hunt asking for cheap items at high levels.
is still annoyed by the way this situation has been handled
oh, so it's because the top prize is worth so much?
The worth of any item is what folks will pay for it.
It's because enough members of the Battle community and the Battle Admins themselves feel that even though it's quite difficult to get a pet strong enough to be a high enough tier to even use this weapon, this weapon itself still must be made outrageously expensive and hard to get.
Quite independently of users's relative success at Item Hunt, the price of the prize has gone up and down due to market forces, battling fads, other weapon releases etc. They just don't like the way the scrip flows for this one and feel that they need to tell everybody that "they're not doing it right" in order for them to think they're having fun.
I'm sorry.. but I don't really understand what you're saying. =( I'm just now learning how to become a part of the community here and don't know the politics surrounding.. anything, really. All I'm really wondering is why it was made so that after you finish L100, you can't play the game anymore. I'm sorry if you answered that and I'm not competent enough to understand you, but there it is.
yeah sorry I was being more bitchy than clear. Here's the short answer: some people thought that their fun in being snobby was more important that other people having fun playing the Item Hunt game over again.
ahh, I understand now. Thank you for the clarification!
Battle admins decided that on their own, but the weapon was becoming very devalued. It is one of the better weapons for what it does and part of their job is to control god weapons(and other weapons) Letting it get too cheap would kinda ruin things.
I specifically pinged staff repeatedly asking how they could justify saying that the hover pricing wasn't the problem and was fully ignored.
What about the Gilded Item Tome? That gets you back to level 50, and from there you can purposefully lose and get back to level one? Or does that no longer work? Its still in the MC.
Nope - they changed it so that that won't work any more for people who have already won item hunt. See this thread here for more information.
