Every time I go to change my avatars clothes I press the save button but it never saves, its also the same when I try to change the hairstyle, is there something else I need to do or is it just not working??

Are you using the old wardrobe or beta wardrobe? For the old one, you have to click "wear outfit", not "save outfit". As for the hair in old wardrobe, I think you have to click "save & use", but I don't use it to remember for sure.
