I realized I already have a thread open... but since I can't change the title and these are OCs, I might as well make a brand new one. I've acquired a lot of pets lately and have a couple of ideas for them, haha! They are all OCs, but they're named after famous people because I, well, love them. Any suggestions would be welcome, although I mostly would like to hear about TC and minion suggestions and possible species/color combos. Feel free to comment on anyone you like; don't feel obligated to do all of them! :)
Leonhard
Color:
because I think it looks lively and curious
Named After: Leonhard Euler the Mathematician
OC Name: Graf Leopold von Stolberg (called "Leon" or "Poldi" in private)
Profession: Student/Aspiring Mathematician/Child Prodigy
Personality: Introverted, eccentric, cheerful (that will change)
Character Development: Eventually cracks under the pressure of being an overly famous child prodigy. Inspired partially by Hans from "Under the Wheel". Authors his first major math paper by age 19. Solves quantum gravity by age 40.
Help wanted about: Minion, TC; there aren't that many math related items that I can find...
Mahler Color: ??? OC Name: Florian Richter Named After: Gustav Mahler the Conductor (which is what he's most famous for in life; he had little time to compose and promote his works) Profession: Composer of (chiefly) Symphonies- Mahler would have liked to have more time for composing his symphonies, so going to give him a wish fulfillment here. Personality: Flamboyant, dramatic, neurotic, highly unfortunate in love Character Development: Based on the lives of numerous artists/literati. When he was young, he met Alma for the first time and became immediately infatuated with her. He met her a few more times but was never able to make her acquaintance properly, although she deeply admired his works and they share a common outlook on art. Years later, she turns out to be married to his best friend, yet she was a definitive influence on his music for decades. He spent the rest of his life trying to figure out what made her so extraordinarily beautiful to him, even though objectively she's nothing special, and tried to define it through music. She's his aesthetic ideal and all of his compositions aspire to that, to the extent that she started to embody all aspects of beauty and human virtues. She "ruined him" for other women, so to speak. He had a string of love affairs, but they never measured up and he remained a bachelor for life. Minion: Alma the Tragic Muse Help wanted about: TC/ Color/Species
Dostoyevsky OC Name: Kirill Vasilievich Dubrovsky Color: ??? Named After: Fyodor Dostoyevsky the Writer Profession: Philosopher Personality: Can I say Nietzschean? Withdrawn, brooding, fascinated with the character of Hamlet, seeks spiritual enlightenment. He's not so much of a RATIONAL philosopher, as he is always trying to find a personal meaning in this seemingly meaningless world. Simultaneously hates the world but wants to be a part of it. Feynman
Color:
(cuz it looks like it's... inventing something)
OC Name: Formally Richard Cavendish (he's an American descendant of that illustrious clan, but alas, fully plebeian now), but he's crazy, so he has all sorts of crazy stage names for himself, even though he's not any sort of performer.
Named After: Richard Feynman the Physicist
Profession: Inventor/Mad Scientist/Polymath/Entrepreneur
Personality: He's extremely intelligent, obnoxious, charismatic, dramatic, witty and versatile, even though he wouldn't do well on a standardized test. He likes to, as he puts it, "solve the world's problems", and he doesn't let anyone else decide what that is and hates it when people tell him his genius isn't being put to good use. After a couple of his physicist friends complained that they were having trouble with women, he decided that it would be his ultimate project to create a foolproof method to turn even the most hopeless nerds into womanizers (because he himself is quite the Casanova). His inventions range from very important, but underrated (people don't know enough science to know what it's for), to totally bizarre but very famous (because they make headlines), to not even being inventions; instead, he would originate many important concepts that would make him one of the most important physicists of the century (but important to note, most of his ideas are pure crazy talk. But he throws out so many, and he's so insane, some of them end up being right), though he considered the title "physicist" too limiting because he also penned an opera and published two volumes of poetry. A proper Leonardo da Vinci of his time.
Character Development: ???

Help wanted about: TC/Minion. Some ideas as to character development is also highly appreciated.
Thanks! It does seem that there is a dearth of math related items, haha.
