OKay so I have a cat, that Ive had for almost 3 years now, way before i met my current boyfriend. We live together and I pay the monthly pet fee, cause shes mine. But do you think its too much to ask that if he notices that the food or water bowl empty that he fills them? He plays with her and she loves him, more than ive ever seen her love someone thats not me lol he helps me cut her nails and stuff but yeah, is it too much to ask of him?
hes also up at weird hours of the night, and my cat meows when shesout of food or water, so he could totally do it
I think you should ask him, it doesn't seems like a big request.
Ask him. It's not an unreasonable request by any means, since feeding and animal only takes a minute. He seems to help care for the cat anyway so just ask him if he would mind filling up its bowls occasionally if he sees that they're empty.
Definitely not unreasonable to ask him to help feed the cat. You're not even asking him to pay for anything, just help take care of her. By the way you described their interaction, it sounds like he would love to help anyway.
thank you all so much! I didnt htink that it was that big of a deal i just wanted other peoples opinions :)
Thanks! Yeah my cat is my daughter and ive never seen her open up with anyone else like she is with him. so i think he will
Yeah! lol its almost annoying but shes amazing
I agree that it's not a big deal, but I also think something to remember when asking someone for a favor, is that it's always okay to ask, but never to expect. That goes even with boyfriends. You are two separate people so it's not their problem, so they don't HAVE to help you. Don't fuss if they say no. It's something I'm still working on as well, but slowly coming to realize.
P.S. Am I pinging/mentioning you by adding the at symbol? I'm new here so I don't know how it works xP
That makes sense and everything, I still havent asked him because there hasnt been a problem, ive been able to feed my cat and everything being home. Im starting a new job soon so ill probably be asking around then. thanks! (and yes :) )
