I find myself going back and fourth on whether or not I want to find most of my pets new homes and focus only on having 2-3 pets. I've recently gotten into focusing on achievements and battling and I feel like I'm neglecting some of my other pets. But I love having all the cute creatures. D: what do I do? Also, do I lose my pet slots I've earned from loyalty boxes over the years?
I struggle with the same choice! I would love the simplicity of only having a couple pets, but almost all of mine have special meaning to me, or else I love the names. I'm going to end up keeping most of mine because I'm afraid I'll regret it if I let them go.
I also fear the regret D: some of mine don't mean a whole lot to me but I've put money into them and stuff.
Just to let you know that you won't lose the additional pet slots. Though depending on how many pets you have, you might need to activate a GA to fill the extra pet slots in the future.
Best of luck deciding. I'm a pet hoarder myself, so you probably know what I will say xD.

Nope! You'll keep the pet spots. Those are yours forever. Like Horror said, though, after a certain number, you'll need an active GA to refill the others.
I think focusing on only two or three is a great idea to make the process fun / less stressful, but I don't recommend complete rehoming. I did something similar to it and regret the decision constantly. But! For a while, if you only want to see a few so that the others don't make you cringe, you can use CustomCSS to hide certain pets on your pets' page / other pet-related pages.
I haven't hidden pets in awhile, but I can help you write the CSS if you want to do that.
and Thank you both for answering and clarifying my question! And thank you for your inputs. I'm just a lil too in love with my pets, even to hide them. But I will keep the CustomCSS thing in mind, I've never work with anything like that.
As someone who is a huge pet person (39 currently with 43 pet slots) I think you should keep them. They are your pets and you can complete them at your own pace :)
I've done some massive rehoming in the past, also, and I regret it often.
Some pets may just take a while to strike you - I've had Averno for more than 6 years now and it took me until about four days ago to figure out what her story is going to be.
I'd say hold onto them for now, until you feel absolutely no attachment. Once they're gone, you likely wont ever get them back.
Besides, there's no rush to completing them. You can pick one or two to work on at a time - theyre yours to do with as you wish and at your own pace.
Best of luck deciding ~
