I've started playing again, and I was thinking how this game could use an update.
But then I saw the Tile Case
turdle, you don't even exist
Turdle was changed into Chelon in 2008. SEVEN YEARS AGO. And this isn't the only one that's like this. And there are many pets completely missing
Seriously this needs an overhaul.
Pets that are still using old look/name:
Pets that are completely missing:
I'd also like the game to be much smoother when playing. I hate the click, click, click, wait, rinse, repeat. I would like to see something similar to how Caliph's Tomb is coded where I could just drag the tiles to each pillar.
Yyyyyep.
I love this game but boy it looks so old.
Is it terrible I didn't even realize pets were missing?
I also think it would be very handy to clear up the whole "tile case versus tile exchange" confusion. It's pretty counterintuitive as it is.
Yes x 1000. I quit playing Tiles ages ago because it's just too slow to play. A revamp to a non-html version would get me playing a lot more. However, I would prefer "click tile, click pillar" than "click tile, drag to pillar" (probably because I use a mouse).
Really hoping Tiles gets more love - it reminds of a game called Wild Apes on this touchscreen we used to have at work, lol.
Sweet Treasures pet=Zagnut pet=Savour [Pet=Chivato] (Ikumoradeekanox)
Serious overhaul needed! I enjoy this game, but it really needs a lot of love. All that old art. And old pet names?! O.O
The game really can use an update. I quit playing it because it's so dreadfully slow and I hate games with waiting times: don't tell me when i can play games guys.
i guess this topic answers your question of how long tiles hasn't been updated.

It certainly does O_o Crazy.
Users have been begging for years to have this game fixed or at least brought up to the same level of quality that the other games on site have.
Seriously, just look at the art.

In 2012 staff finally got around to fixing a missing tile.
I would love to see this game get a face-lift and maybe some more prizes added to it? Granted I know the wooden tiles /are/ the whole reason for playing the game but some extra little odds and ends would be nice. I play the game off and on when I remember to, I wouldn't mind having a bigger excuse to play it more often though. :D
I am in full support of a Tiles revamp. It is in dire need of an art revamp for sure, there's no denying a full blown face lift in that aspect. And I'm just going to continue to agree with here, I dig the drag and drop/double click the tiles into the pillars idea. Nobody enjoys playing boring/for lack of a better word games and although Tiles isn't the most mind blowing excitement I've participated in on site I still play this game and would love to see it run smoother
Gotta get them tiles baybay ;)
No, I don't want to get anything else but Tiles from Tiles. You literally have EVERYWHERE ELSE ONSITE to get "odds and ends"
What we need is an overhaul of how tiles are distributed, and the possibility to get points to buy tiles you don't have or something
Jesus this game is old lmao I never play it so seeing how outdated it is is just...omg I'm laughing so hard. Yeah this needs to be given a HUGE facelift xD
While I agree that the game really needs an update, I would not want new pets added! That would change the game play/odds making it much more difficult to make image matches, which are already rare. Still, if its a choice between adding more species or not updating at all, I'd rather see an update and a harder game.

Wow. I completely forgot this game existed. Yes, it needs a major revamp.

I would love to see this game get updated, new art would be amazing.
Oh wow - yeah, I agree it's time this game got an update. (As great of a relic as it is!) I wonder if there have been programming issues with getting it updated - I remember at one point we had a game programmer that did things just...super differently to everyone else.
Anyway, I'll look into the art side of it, see what can be done - maybe it can be worked into a Monthly Theme at some point :)
I think it would be lovely if the game would work with points. Divide the end game in scales: 0-150 points: 1 point 150-500 points: 2 points (just saying some numbers because i don't have the foggiest idea how high the scores can go in a round).
And allow users to buy from a tiles shop with those points.
Anyway, I would be happy already with new art and having entire pillars clickable instead of just that one radiobutton.

I've reported this some months ago and it was completely ignored, I'm glad you've brought it back and hopefully it will be revamped/sorted out soon :)
Yay, just an art update would be lovely! I just started playing it again - I hadn't been because it is tedious and there's such a long wait in between games* - but I want to start collecting tiles ;X; And the rules definitely need to be rewritten/explained better. "(Story & Game Instructions & FAQs)," really?
*Maybe the wait could be cut to an hour between games? I don't think there's any chance of the market being flooded with tiles ;P
- Gosh, right? I was having a read through that story/FAQ and it's so...out of place? I cannot for the life of me remember how it came about. I do quite like the idea of the games having a bit of their story behind them, though. Something to think about in the future!
I'm pretty sure we could work on getting this game coded to work a bit faster, at least.
With some sprucing up, I think the story could work with the game, and I do like the Tile Monger as a character... he just needs some MORE story to explain him, lol. He's a cool NPC (and yay, Ruffies!), although I feel bad for him being down there for years and years just collecting tiles. If the instructions and story could all be simplified and put on the main game page... sort of like how it is with the Crypts?
I just looked at the story for the first time in a while. Ow, typos XD The English teacher in me wants to proofread :P But anyway, if the story could be worked into Subeta lore/mythos somehow, like it's part of the Crypts or something, I think it has promise :3
And yay for getting the code sped up too! That and pretty art would totally make me want to play it a lot more.
