Since it is a user coined term (there is no official acknowledgement) you would need to either try Googling it to find the release post, or just ask the person who released it.

None that I can think of! Usually the people who are on that thread are particularly skilled at knowing if something is private :) good luck!

I usually just google the item and look for the original post, like Klassikal said
