I'm getting ready to move to another country in a few months to be with my husband, and i've been trying to seriously downsize my stuff so it's not crazy expensive to get me over there.
So of course the first thing I'm trying to narrow down is my huge wardrobe. :P
I used to work in a retail store with nice stuff where I got a pretty significant discount, so sometimes I would buy nice clothes and never wear them. So I decided, "Hey, I've got all these nice clothes, why not try one of those apps people always talk about?"
But i've had no luck! Some of it is a little more expensive, but it's brand new too.

But if anyone had any ideas on how to sell better, that would be awesome!
Could you have a garage sale/yard sale where you are? That's how I usually get rid of a lot of my stuff. People are usually looking for super cheap prices at those kinds of sales though. But it would definitely help with some of your less expensive stuff. Or you could maybe try posting on Craigslist. Just be careful - don't meet people at your home, always meet in a public place, and have someone with you - never meet anyone alone. Or you could maybe try posting some ads in your local newspaper or their website. Is there a radio station in your area that sells things in a 'classifieds' sort of set-up?
Oh! The best thing for the nicer, brand-new (and some nicer used clothes, especially brand names) is to take them to a consignment shop. Usually they'll take anything, but some places only take brand names. They'll take a percentage of what they sell it for and you'll get a percentage. You could try Googling for places like that in your area.
Yeah, i don't know that i really want to try a garage sale because everything that wasn't either new or expensive has already gone to goodwill! But a consignment shop would be a great idea. :D
if you're looking to get the most money, your best bets are eBay/the sites that you mentioned. i have some experience with poshmark and i've heard of the other two (but haven't used them at all). eBay will take 10% of whatever you make, while poshmark does 20%. at the same time, eBay is flooded with clothing, making it unlikely that your clothes will get a bunch of pageviews/bids (unless you price SUPER competitively). if you have the time, i would definitely go for using either eBay or one of those websites! a few months should give you enough time to try to sell some of the stuff at least. if you run out of time/get desperate, twice and thredup are basically online thrift shops and they buy new/gently used brand-name clothing. there are some calculators on both websites i think that will tell you approximately how much you can get for a specific brand. while they don't accept everything (i.e. certain brands, items that are too used), whatever they won't accept they'll donate!
