I'm not as interested in training ever since I spent my last CSC on training. Does this site have any battling plots? Do you get lots of sP for beating certain opponents? In general, is battling really that important?

Sorry if this is in the wrong area. Just move the topic if that's the case.

You don't get enough sP to make up for the training costs, unless you can sell your rewards but in all honesty, I don't know how well they sell (at high costs anyway) other than plot challengers' special loot (and tbh it still probably won't come close to making up for your training). It helps if you can get the special loot yourself, if there's anything you want, but personally I stopped training at tier 7 because I just don't care enough to make it worth it.

Unless you're super dedicated, it's not worth it in my opinion. Get one pet to a decent mid-tier (I'd say 6-7 is probably plenty far) with a halfway decent set if you want to participate in battle plots, but don't bother going any farther unless you're really dedicated to it and you want to go all the way with your pet.

Just a side note, I never once used autotraining (though I'm online a hell of a lot longer than the average user) and it took me about a year and a half or so, to get to tier 7.

I don't think Battling is super important, I do it because it's fun. Battling is an expensive little hobby the sP rewards never make up for it, and those of use who indulge spend tons of sP on things that most users would use to buy CWs or complete their collections with. We forgo the new dress to add to our knife collection, and instead of blowing it on toys for our pets we send them to the gym, so to speak :)

The last plot where battling was necessary to complete the plot was the Islander/Pirate war back in 2007. The last plot where battling was useful to help complete the plot was the Survival plot in 2011? where the Ecks-Skitters-Fantine love triangle plot had some lucha libre. Even then, that event lasted long enough that with autotraining or some dedication you could train your pet up in time to be strong enough to defeat the strongest challenger. The last site events that had battling which was fun and profitable lootwise (if you like battling) was the Councilor's Cruise, Tempest (2013 vesnali?) and 2014 Morostide the Ian/Jaxon adventure.

For most of these ones with optional/just for fun battling a t7 pet with nice weapons and a medium-large scroll-memory would have been decent to have gotten you most of the battle loot. I created a buncha new pets come the sites 10th anniversary last September and they are just t5 reaching soon for t6. I did autotrain them all a bit.

As I said to another friend, battling is like sports (or fashion to some lol)

You spend time training to get better, but the training and equipment can be expensive.

It's not as profitable as it used to be though. It can cost a couple billion to get to T12, and more pets are approaching that now. So there will be tons of people selling the same loot.

The biggest reward is enjoyment if you find it fun. If you like strategy games, grinding, or bragging about about your pet's stats and high scores then it might fit you, otherwise not.

overall, battling and training is kind of a subgame in itself. the costs are pretty steep, both for weapons (all at once) and training (in the long run), and you don't really make up for it in prizes/loot, so if you're considering battling as a financial investment, i'd encourage you not to.

but if training, battling, strategizing, etc sounds like the kind of thing you're interested in, it's actually a really well done feature on this site. i've been to a lot of assorted pet sites and i always seek out the battle community where ever i go. subeta has, in my opinion at least, one of the better battle features. that, and the actual community itself is composed of a pretty great batch of people.

occasionally, battling does play pretty big roles in various plots, but i wouldn't consider that common enough to exclusively train a pet to participate in plots.
