Hi guys! I'm sorry if this has already been addressed somewhere - I have a hard time navigating the boards and threads.. I've played this site for years, but always kept away from the boards since I never really had a reason to come here, and so now that I actually need to know how to use them, I'm struggling a bit, oops.

But anyways! The last time I tried to edit my wishlist, which was just barely over a month ago, I was trying to move items from "unsorted" to a different category, and when I tried to move them the items were completely deleted from my wishlist. They weren't in any categories, they weren't "unsorted," they were just gone. Unfortunately I have no idea what those items were anymore, which as you can imagine is quite upsetting, and therefore I've not tried to touch it again for fear of deleting even more items.

But I took my last final of the semester, and I really want to be able to organize my wishlist and start actively hunting things down. So how do I go about using it without deleting items? I had played with my wishlist many many times before that and never had a problem, so is it a glitch? Has the glitch been fixed? Is there a way around it that I'm not privy to since I'm not a big part of the community?

Any and every bit of help I can get would be greatly appreciated. If I put this in the wrong thread, where should I head to?

You have to use the dropdown underneath each item to choose the categories, just make sure you don't touch the checkboxes because those are only for deleting.

If I checkmarked all of them beforehand I will be so super upset with myself. Ugh. What a dip thing to do.

Okay, so now I tried to move a single item (so that I could remember what it was if something bad happened), and I changed its category and did NOT check the little delete box - but it didn't move categories. What am I doing wrong now?

That's nothing you did, that's the WLs acting up. Sometimes people still have trouble sorting from the bottom up. Personally I have trouble trying to sort only a few items at a time, I have to sort big chunks or it won't go through.

hmm.. okay, so only sort large chunks at a time, and do my best to start from the top?

That's probably your best bet, honestly

thank you for your help. =( I feel so silly when I have to ask these questions, it's nice knowing that people here are nice and willing to help. I tried moving several items at once at the top and it did indeed work, so I hope this means my problems are over.

one more question, how do I lock this thread? The little lock button isn't working. Is it non-functioning?

Yeah I'm really not sure why that was ever put in because it's never worked. You can edit the title and/or ping to lock the thread for you
