I went to a Kia dealer today to look at the Kia Soul because it's like...beautiful and I want one, lol. But the guy I talked to said the lowest payment I could possibly get on a 2015 new one was $198 a month and that would be a basic basic one. Like, no bluetooth, no anything except an engine, lol. But he told me that he was expecting four used ones to come in in the next couple of weeks, so I left my info with him. I told him I could only afford around $125 a month, hopefully less, and he seemed to think I could get one of those for that. I'm not sure what color they are though (have my heart set on a lime green one) or how many miles are on them or anything though. Hopefully one of those will work out though! Otherwise, I'll be looking around at used cars now, because NEW CARS WHY U SO EXPENSIIIIIVE?!? The ones I'm looking at mainly though are Kia Soul, Ford Fiesta, and Honda Fit. A Mini would be awesome if I could afford it though, or maybe a VW Golf.
So...cars. Talk. I ain't spoon-feeding your asses. ^_^
[edit] I FOUND A CAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAR. :D:D:D It's a 2011 Ford Fiesta in LIME MOTHERFREAKING GREEN. The exact color I wanted. I am SO damn excited. I drove it yesterday and I'm picking it up tomorrow. The price was lower than bluebook and it only has just over 34k miles on it. It's in beautiful shape too and they're throwing in a new battery and brake pads for me, because those were the only things it needed. And my parents? They're awesome. Like, really. fucking. awesome. They're giving me 3k for a down payment so I don't have a huge monthly payment. Best parents ever, I swear to God. I've already named her Peri, short for Peridot, because she's green. Bonus that Peri's the name of one of the Doctor's companions. runs around in circles freaking out

that's actually pretty good for a car payment. I bought a 2006 Kia Rio that was used, from the Kia dealership, back in 2006. They had bought it back from Enterprise, so it was still a model year 2006 but already had 24k miles on it. It was still under full warranty though, for another five years. And back then, full warranty meant everything, even the battery, etc. I think my payments were about $240 a month. And you have to remember, you'll be paying that thing for at least 6 years, that's the typical length of a car loan. If you have a good relationship with your bank, you're better off seeing if you can get a loan through them with a better interest rate.
oh and if you get a loan from your bank, don't tell the salesperson at Kia how much it's for when you go in. Try to get the price of the car under it, because you have to add tax, the title fee, and some other crap. Plus if you tell them how much your loan is for they'll go 'oh I have one for just that amount!' lol
That's how I did it when I bought mine, my loan was for 12k and we went in and I found my car and fell in love with it, but my Grandpa had cautioned me not to tell them I had a deal with my bank, so we could see if we could get something better from the dealership. The lady haggled forever over the car, and kept saying she couldn't go any lower than 12.5k because she would be losing money. We went back and forth FOREVER.
Finally I looked at my Grandpa, and he nodded, so I told her I had been approved for the loan from my bank, and 12k was my absolute limit, and that had to include all costs. She huffed and flounced off to her 'manager' and came back with the paperwork with all the fees and taxes and stuff figured in, with the cost to exactly 12k.
I lol'd all the way home in my new car XD
