TW: Bugs, pretty much the fuzzy and stingy type.

Alright. I'm not afraid of insects. I took care of ladybugs, help worms getting back in the soil .. etc. BUT WHY ARE BUGS EVERYWHERE AROUND ME?! A couple months ago, it was a raging bumblebee flying around my house and being really a pissy bumble. I didn't want to kill it gdi, so I tricked it and released it outside after an hour of hard work. Then yesterday there was a damn wasp and that thing was "no fucks given" and I know better than to try to hit it. So I left the door open and it gtfo'ed, thank you. Then later that day I go to bed and chill under the cover .. until .. unexpected spider incoming on my ceiling. A huge, fuzzy one and I was like "BRO NO, IT'S FUCKING 10 PM. WHY U HERE, BROOO". So I tricked it, putted it outside after some serious scolding and went to bed.

Bugs, ugh.

Any bugs story guys?

House centipedes, man.

My mom does embroidery and last night, I thought I saw a clump of the thread she was using on a project on the upstairs floor so I went to nudge it a little with my cup because we have house centipedes. (Which are the epitome of ooga booga.)

EXCEPT IT MOVED AND STARTED SCURRYING AWAY FROM ME. Cue me squealing in dismay, despite I'm not really afraid of bugs aside from bees (I respect the bees, yo) and Dad came over and promptly squashed the centipede.

In socks.

I'm in awe of my father, lmao.

I can't kill centipedes because of Tokyo Ghoul (an anime and manga). It is related to my fave character and I name all centipedes Kaneki and drop them outside.

My mom is like your father aka "squish it with the first thing you find" and I'm all "FUCK NO DON'T KILL THIS LIVING BEING!". I mean, I'm the weird college student collecting worms and dropping them on the grass..

Shit am I weird xD?

Lil' bit. XD

My Mom hates house centipedes and has panic attacks when she sees them so they're kind of a kill on sight bug.

Every spring we have boxelder bugs and for the life of me I can't squish them. Which might be why they always seem to come to me... o.O'

Them and crickets, ever since I did a little research on Chinese culture, crickets are an insect I can't squish.

Spiders on the other hand....I can squish them (sometimes) and then I freak out afterwards.

I can't deal with cockroaches and usually run at the sight of them...A flying one flew into my face when I was child, ever since I've been afraid of every single one of them. Cannot even get close enough to try and toss a shoe at it. Other than that I usually let bugs chill wherever they want and also try and help them not to drown in the shower or anything like that. If they get in the house I usually find a container to trap them in and take them outside, except for daddy long legs (the spider). They can stay where ever, I currently have one in my bedroom, his name is Gregory and he eats any other small creature that goes into my room.

I would say I can relate to your problem but usually its just butterflies running into me, or me running into them...maybe we run into each other?

The other night, before going to bed, I spotted a water beetle nestling itself in my bath rug x_x I had to go shake it out in the backyard before I could sleep (even though there was only one of them). I'm really not afraid of bugs but if I do see one in my house before I go to sleep, I can't stop imagining it crawling on my skin -shudder-

Oh man, same. I'm not afraid of bugs or spiders - I just leave spiders alone, as I'd rather have them hanging out up in the corners than other bugs!

But I have absolutely NO tolerance for centipedes, I swear to god, they are the most horrifying creature on this planet. And I've seen 2 house centipedes in my apartment since moving in last August. I live alone, so I have to grab the damn things and throw them in the toilet. Blech. -_-

bugs huh? my flatmate is the unlucky one to find the BIG NASTY ones in the bathroom. When such a discovery is made, usually a scream and a dance is performed to make ME go deal with it. hmmm >_> well i dont like the encounter with them, one crawled on me... and i kill them with the shoe.. luckily recently we didn't find any in doors, just in the building's staircase. usually dead. i also made sure to cover openings in the walls with tape and paper. this is sure to keep them out. can't use poison cause of our 2 cats >.>

we dont care about any other bugs.. we let them live especially outside.

There was a creepy spider staring at me when I was on the toilet this morning. I had just gotten up so I was all 'Mehhhhhh' yet and it was SO FUCKING TINY so I didn't really know what it was until I got my face all close to it. And then I was like FUCKNO and reflex-smashed it and then I felt terrible. But usually I'm the same way, catching and releasing everything, even if I'm like 'YOU ONE UGLY MF'ER BITCH'. I love bumblebees though. They're like flying fuzzballs. One landed on me when I was sunning the other day and it tickled walking on my leg. My mom was like OMGKILLIT and I cussed her out. I don't kill anything. Except for a spider once in a while, when the bitch is on my turf. I have this rule, where if the bug is near me, it gets to live if it doesn't make any moves to nom me. If it's ON me, all bets are off.

I'm in awe of my father too. He mashes spiders with his bare hands. HELLNOTHANKS.

aww man i agree with yall - i hate house centipedes too. i sat down on my bed the other day and one crawled out from under my pillow :L

but wait guys i think i have the best story yet.

so i just got back from my parents' place out east. i've been too lazy to unpack so i've just been living out of my suitcase. anyway, so a few days ago i had to pee. as i was sitting down on the toilet/pulling my pants down i saw a spider crawl out of the little fabric pocket (underwear lining?? idk what its called) in my undies. it wasn't huge or anything and i killed it but i swear i sat on that toilet for like 6 years in shock and fear. and then jumped into the shower. but for real how did it even get there? i kept my undies in a separate compartment in my suitcase.. talk about being the stuff of urban legends.. i don't even mind spiders that much but ughhhhhhhh ugh. guhhfjehkhwgjkwrhk. that was fucking scarring.

I used to keep tarantulas because I was afraid of spiders so I bought one and forced myself to take care of it. I instantly got over my fear when I realized she was kind of like a scared puppy. One time she stepped in the water dish and went running at full spider-speed back into the rock hut I made her and didn't come out for like 2 days because her foot got wet. I also had a madagascar hissing cockroach who would get pissy and bathe whenever my disgusting human hands touched her.

I'm now that person that no matter the bug, I'll scoop it up and put it outside to let it continue on with its little bug life. They're pretty interesting when you really stop and pay attention to them.

You're much more tolerant of bugs in your room than I am. x:

I usually attempt to catch moths and stink bugs and any others that I know for certain are totally harmless and put them outside, but I tend to draw the line at spiders and wasps. I'm allergic to a lot of things and I'd rather ensure that the stinging/biting types aren't getting away to harass me at a later day. If I'm at work though, they really don't bother me since it's a more open space with less hiding places and outside is outside. We have miner bees next to the one corner of our porch and they're kind of adorable. I help worms back into the dirt as well, haha.

I can't handle house centipedes in any setting though ffff just nope. They used to hide among my toys when I was little or I find them sometimes in between the sheets of paper towels (so when you grab one they literally come flying out at you how fun). They're the closest thing I have to a phobia and it only got worse when I found out their bites can make you pretty sick.

That might not be the last centipede you find among your mom's embroidery. :c They eat silverfish, which eat fibrous material like paper and cloth, so you're likely to find them hunting there. She can cut down on nasty surprises though by keeping it in some kind of plastic storage container when she's not using it.

OMGGG. I thought I wanted to get better at stitching --- MAYBE NOT. I work at a used bookstore and I hatehatehate(!) silverfish so I should, technically, love house centipedes? Eat 'em up, li'l dudes!

To keep on topic, my favorite bug incident, of course, doesn't involve me getting surprised by a bug, but another coworker. He had just taken the trash out and had battled a flying cockroach near the dumpsters, but had swatted it away and took the bins back inside. At that point, he started cleaning the restrooms. It's quiet in the store -- all the customers have been driven away and it's just employees -- when you hear a high pitched squeal from the men's restroom. He had been cleaning the toilet when he felt the cockroach moving IN HIS HAIR and freaked out when it came flying at him, hahaha.
