Mine are for Quentin's Shop but I'm sure others will have ideas for different shops.
A few years ago we had a range of torture implement toys for Morostide. One of my pets would love a guillotine and iron maiden for her treasure chest. (I know there's a cuddly iron maiden plushie but my pet says it's not the same.)
Another of my pets is a vampire. She would love some Victorian graveyard items such as urns and angel statues.
Carl: ~ Dirty trash-filled alley background ~ Dirty/holey pirate clothes ~ Leftover food/half-empty alcohol bottles
Cinthia: ~ Swingset background (I don't think we have an official one of these, although I know there's at least one CW background with a swing on it)
Maleria: ~ Indoor/outdoor castle backgrounds ~ Cloudy/smoky items - filter + clouds both above and below the HA, similar to all of these would be perfect tbh (preferably with a variety of colors):
Mori/Nori: ~ Sun/moon themed theatre masks?
Pete: ~ Less Awesome Potato (to go with ) ~ Pancakes (I mean this wouldn't have to be a quest shop item but like, there's not a lot of pancakes onsite) ~ Kitchen bg (or maybe a food truck?)
Quentin: ~ More emotional ghost stickers (like ) or maybe a plushie + beanbag with different emotions that go with the set? ~ Lantern like the one hanging off of Quentin's house? Is that a house? Idk that little green one, it's cute. ~ Black roses. Like in a bouquet, make it wearable, tbh I don't care. I'd even settle for a mix of super dark purples/reds/blacks
Saggitarius: ~ Background of the view from his tower thingy? He's got all those trees just outside, that must look nice
Sarah: ~ An item that gives freckles? ~ Daisy flower train/bustle ~ An iced tea or something with a daisy on the straw or something idk 'cause most of her items have daisies because Amy ~ A photo of her and Amy together ~ Amy's favorite plushie (tbh I don't know Amy's character well and I don't have time to look it up just now, but she was like 8 right? So she must have had one)
Wizard: ~ Magical bunny slippers ~ Indoor background of the Wizard's little house thing (imagine if that starry roof was translucent so you could see the stars on it??) ~ Luna's favorite chew toy (could easily be a plushie)
I know a lot of these are wearables but since we got such gorgeous examples of perfect TC item/wearable combinations for Vesnali, staff could easily work in some other ideas for the item images on some of these for a little better variety for the TC crowd
Cinthia or Sarah - A couple of long skirts with matching long sleeved tops or just a couple of long dresses with long sleeves.
If Quentin's too nice to sell things like a guillotine and iron maiden, perhaps Maleria could. After all, look what she did to one of her Gatekeepers who displeased her -
Personally what I'd really like to see happen with the quest shops, on top of the seasonal themed items we get, is event themed. Each quest givers shop could get 1-2 reasonably priced items (15 points and under) that are relevant to both the event + the NPC and would retire 1 month after release.
These items could more or less work like the MC stock where, for example, each Vesnali we get 1-2 new items for each quest shop + the items from previous years are brought back. So if you missed a year next year you could (potentially) buy them all, and people might be inclined to buy several copies of these items to sell for the next 11 months (The only exception to this hopefully being in the event of something like a drive requiring plushies, the plushies would temporarily return for the duration of the event),
Doing stuff like this would help make the entire site feel like it's involved (instead of just like three NPCs being aware it's morostide and the rest of the NPCs are just like it's business as usual), not to mention a golden opportunity to expand the personalities of some of the NPCs.
Like, for example I'll use Vesnali:
-- Library: Books on Botany or Bird Watching, or bugs or farmers almanac. -- Cinthia: Tea sets were perfect, just like that. Pete: grill, tiki torches, packets of seeds, bags of charcoal. -- Saggitarius: cruise tickets, vacation tickets (seasons are for peasants), bug spray, designer glasses/tank tops, margarita machine, beach throne? -- Wizard: kumos puppies (books about, minions), rain spells, water proof slippers.. Short robe? -- Maleria: fire ant nest (pure evil), pollen matter? -- Carl: last years vegetables, picked eggs, beards with a bird nest in it. -- Quentin: skulls with flowers, poisonous flowers, horns with flowers, unisex bathing suit (think those old school striped things from like the early 1900s), mushrooms? -- Cursed: bright cheerful vase of flowers, dark gloomy vase of flowers, book of cheerful spring songs, book of mourning songs. -- Sarah: fun things to do inside during rain storms, board games, hackysack beanbag.
Maybe one if them has seasonal allergies? Maybe Maleria is exceedingly weak during the warm sunny months, maybe someone can't swim/is afraid of water? For other events scared of the dark (nightlights, blanket of impenetrable safety), arachnophobia, personalized masks or outfits or drinks, Keel items? I imagine Cinthia and Sarah having fairy tale books and plushies akin to Peter Pan and Hook??
I'd rather see more rotating items that're affordable and relevant to holidays/events and offer more character building opportunities to staff.
Some suggestions for a few shops:
Quentin -More demon/demonic themed items -Black Magic themed books/summoning circles, candles, ect. -Basically anything based around the occult -Mirrors, cauldrons, cloaks, wands, ect. There's a lot that can be done here.
Carl -Pirate themed wears -Booze -Ripped, torn, sullied clothing -Scattered coins, scattered bottles, discarded food, wears that make you look drunk or dirty from a night of binge drinking, ect.
Maleria -Dark Matter possessed objects -Gatekeeper themed items -Basically anything to do with the Darkside in general -Books based on Euclid, Mathias (er Sable Smithy guy?), the Apothecary, ect.
Saggi-ass: More double breasted waist coats, similar to the Death one that was in the TS, and the one in the Forum shop.
Sarah: Some items related to her sister
Pete: Kitchen gear, all those little knickknacks we don't currently have on their own.
