EDIT: I'm now taking slots on the first item!

Hi all! I'm new to CW creation (and Subeta in general, I've only been here for a few months) and I'd like to make 3 Steven Universe themed outfits. I was wondering if someone with experience making tribute CWs could tell me if these designs would be accepted or if I should make any more changes from the original character designs? Obviously these are very rough concepts/sketches and I plan on adding patterning/detail to a lot of these!

The individual items are- Pearl: hair, pearl on forehead (could this and the hair possibly be one item?), leotard, shawl, skirt, socks, shoes

Garnet: hair, glasses, shoulder pads, corset, gloves, boots, body suit

Amethyst: hair, amethyst on chest, body suit, sweater, shorts (white frayed denim, they're not too visible on the picture sorry), socks, shoes

EDIT: I was misinformed on how the process worked and this spoiler is no longer necessary/relevant! Earlier I went ahead and finished the first Pearl themed item, but I haven't been able to submit it yet because unfortunately there isn't an option to purchase 1500CSC, and even if there was, I'm broke and I wouldn't have been able to spare $15 anyway.

If someone could possibly be so kind as to lend me 1500CSC so I can submit this first item for approval that'd be really, really incredible. If the item gets accepted I'll give you my free copy (and if it doesn't, you get a free art commission similar to this). The idea is that hopefully this will be the only time I'd ever have to ask for CSC and that I'll use my profits to make and publish the rest of these outfits! If this goes really well then I'll definitely consider making more gem themed items (weapons?) and outfits too!

Have you considered taking slots and submitting it that way? Submitting it straight to shop IS cheaper, but someone has to eat the whole cost themselves and then you need to sell a ton of copies to make your money back. If you submit it as a 10 item batch you can have people purchase their own slot for their own item at a much cheaper cost, and you get yours totally for free.

(Asking someone to pay 1500 csc for this item, and then selling it for less than 1500 csc to other people may make people weary)

Also if the item is denied, you get your money back. So if the item is denied and someone does lend you the 1500 csc you should give them their money back if you're not willing to fix it according to the denial.

If you decide to submit slots, please ping me because I'd be willing to grab a slot on it.

Thanks for this. The instructions on the CW page are really unclear (at one point it says I get ten free copies of the item and at one point it says I only get one copy? I really wasn't sure so I thought it'd be safer to only offer one copy to one person).

Also it kinda made it sound like you don't get your CSC back if your item is denied and I'm pretty relieved to hear that that's not the case, actually <xD. My original plan was to give the 1500 back were the item to be denied but the way the page was worded made me go back on myself. I really didn't want to have to do batches so I'll have to think about this for a bit, and If I can pull together the money to pay for the submission cost myself I absolutely will (that's probably what I'll end up doing).

Also, if this were to be listed to the shop, do I not get the full 4000CSC whenever someone buys it? When I was testing this out last night it said that vests/corsets cost 1500 to submit and that the price to buy them is 4000. Does Subeta take a huge chunk of commission out of every purchase? (or Can I set a smaller price)?

There are two ways to submit an item! Option 1: Submit the item directly to shop. This costs less to submit (the 1500 option) but the submitter has to eat the entire cost and gets one copy for themselves The item is then put into your shop and you can price it for what ever you want, but people generally don't pay more than 700 csc for items (And for something like this, 700 would be really pushing it in my opinion. Around 400-500 would be best but that's just me!). When an item is in your shop you still have to 'pay' for the copy. The site will tell you what you can set the item at for 'minimum' and it will give you 100 csc from the minimum price every time it's purchased. (Every time someone makes a purchase for example they pay the full price, and you get an alert that says 'someone bought ___ from your shop! 100 csc has been added to your onhand.') You can set it higher than the minimum to get more csc back!

Option 2: Take slots on the item. This costs a lot more to submit (the 4000 option) but you do not have to eat the cost yourself. Instead, you divide the cost across 10 slots (So say, one for yourself and then 9 other people could pay just 450 csc a slot and you would end up not having to pay any csc and would get some csc back!) then you could later add it to your shop so you no longer had to deal with taking slots (adding it to your shop after it has already been approved costs you nothing!)

That makes much more sense! I'll mull over my options for a bit and see if I can find any more reading on the subject, and I'll ping you if I decide to take slots! Thank you so much for the advice.
