I think it would be a good idea for item hovers to include the item type/use underneath the rarity. I think it would be easier for users to decide if they want to buy an item or add an item to their wishlist that they didn't know what it was. I know a site like SubetaLodge exists but Subeta itself would be much more user friendly if an outside site wasn't needed just to see what a new item was that didn't necessarily have a descriptive name (such as having the word "book" or "sandwich" in the title, for example) without having to buy it first (not a good idea for something expensive or costs CSC), wait for someone to post that a wearable item was also edible and it wasn't obvious (for example), or wait for SubetaLodge to update their site with the new items (which is not always done on time).
Overall, I think item hovers should include item type/use (such as book, food, et cetera) next to the rarity for added user friendliness.
Ignore if this has been suggested before. Didn't see a search forums button.
I'd love to see this. It's not always obvious what an item is used for, and some items make it even more confusing. Take these phone items, for example:
is a toy. is a wearable. has no use.
I can never remember which one is which, and have to look them up whenever I'm sorting these items in my shop.
HUGE SUPPORT. This would really, really be helpful.
I think this is a great idea! There are tons of items on site where the use is not really clear without using SubetaLodge to check... and as much as I love SubetaLodge, items' uses should be clear and apparent on the official site just for the sake of being user-friendly. There is already a huge learning curve for new players on Subeta, but implementing this would problem help a lot!
Even as a longtime player, I've purchased quite a few items over the years assuming they do one thing only to find out that that is not the case. There are lots of edible minions, wearable foods, etc. There are also tons of items that could confused for wearables (tons of early Grooming Parlour items), when in reality they currently don't have a use (yet).
Total support!
I would love this. I get a lot of items from quests and I have to go through them one by one to determine what goes in collections, what gets sold, what goes in my wardrobe, etc. And there are a few plushies out there that I've seen that weren't labelled "Plushie."
The only criticism I can see is this getting extremely crowded in the hovers, particularly for items with multiple uses.
I think it would be helpful though, and hopefully can be done with out cluttering up the hover
Omg yes please. Maybe we could get a color coded letter/small symbol (though I'm leaning towards letter, because symbols might be too small to tell apart) to keep it from getting too crowded
100% support this. Nothing I hate more than buying something and finding out that it's not actually edible/whatever. Something like this would be extremely helpful.

I fully support this. Also loving 's suggestion of using a symbol, so it doesn't get too cluttered.
And as a note, the staff at SubetaLodge don't have any more of an idea than the general users of a non-obvious item use either. So we try our best to get it right, but don't always.

Yes please. I was thinking about this after I realized that The Skeleton Vase is actually a book.
Yeah, I can now see a bit of the book under everything but the book is well hidden and with "vase" in the name I just thought it was something someone would use for a TC. There's a lot more readable's coming out that have great art but leave me questioning if it's a book or not and I have to wait for SubetaLodge to be updated before I can commit to buy something, especially if it's expensive or limited like the Token Shop.
I support the idea, but not a fan of yet more cluttered hovers (which are feeling kind of cluttered already because of the search links). If there's a way to minimize all of it in a way that's still visually appealing, I'd be for this.
I would absolutely love this, preferably with symbols to reduce clutter. It could include things like a burger (food), a teddy (plushie), a simple book (book), etc. It would also be nice to have an icon for currencies (a coin) and maybe one for boosters (a plus sign?), seeds (a flower) and some other things as well. Wearables clearly don't need one. xD The icons themselves should be hoverable / listed somewhere to clear up any confusion. c:
The symbols for different types of things even already exist on the site in the form of alchemy tokens, so those could just be reused!
[item=Alchemy Token: Bean Bag][item=Alchemy Token: Book][item=Alchemy Token: Decal][item=Alchemy Token: Food][item=Alchemy Token: Minion][item=Alchemy Token: Plushie][item=Alchemy Token: Toy][item=Alchemy Token: Weapon][item=Alchemy Token: Wearable]
It'd also probably help to avoid confusion if certain items weren't sold in more than one shop. For example, is sold both in Toy Box and in Plushie Parlor.
I think this would be useful. When new items come out, I have to check on Subetalodge as to whether they're readable or not (Things like receipts, notes, postcards etc.). Like I also didn't realise straight away that the vase could be read.
