YES! A bloody magazine spoiled it before the episode was even aired! Sure PD wanted to leave the show and was bored of it or whatever.....but Shonda could have done it differently. I mean, WHO the heck stops mid u-turn across a road (where there had been no traffic for AGES while he was treating those people, but a truck just all of a sudden appears), surely he would have had ID on him, or right next to him, they could have sent him to his bloody hospital, not the sub-par one! AND M - not calling any family first?! WTF? She obviously wasn't thinking straight, she handled the situation okay at the time, so it would be interesting to see how she reacts when it actually settles in.

The narration from said character receiving the medical attention, powerful. It added emotion to the story hearing said character correct the diagnosis of the untrained (or not trained well enough) doctors, ultimately realising he was going to die due to their lack of knowledge. It was well done, and impacted many emotionally - so you have to praise Shonda for that. It also brings light to the topic of under-trained doctors and hospitals not equipped for trauma etc. Had he have gone to Grey Sloane, I feel he would have been fine....I'm not even a doctor, but as soon as I saw he was awake but had no verbal capabilities I was crying out "Check his head!", then he said it in the narration.
