What's your technique? What would be the fastest, most effective way to get a cleared pet name? I have my eye on one, but other users are always too fast!

EDIT: Just recently I got a pet named The Half-Blood Prince! So exciting. :)

For starters, start checking on the name the day before it's set to clear. They tend to clear a day early. Other than that, I don't really have any tips because most cleared pet names I've taken were ones that were already marked inactive when I got them. The only one I really stalked to clearing, I got by checking the day before (but it's also a fairly obscure fandom so that helps, if the name you're after is more popular it's probably a lot harder lol)

Thanks! The name I want, the account says "This account will be eligible for clearing on 05/27/15 at 3:00 pm." I am more talking about the seconds leading up to getting the pet name, in terms of refreshing particular pages, etc.

First, light some candles. Second, place the blood of your sacrifice over your computer. Lastly, pray.

When I use to go for names, I would have the page up about 10 minutes before and would just constantly click create pet and go back until I either got the name or missed it. Or refresh the page when it says the name is taken, but I'm not sure if that works still.

Thank you! There must be some sort of technique in terms of having multiple pages open, or refreshing certain pages.... In terms of creating a pet, or changing a current pet's name to the desired one, if one way is quicker than the one... Refreshing the 'name is taken' page seems like it would give you a few seconds advantage, but not sure if I would want to risk it if it results in an error.

I've never tried getting pet names, but I successfully snagged my current username.

Like said, names tend to clear a day early. Mine did. I went to the page a few minutes before, and pretty much kept on trying until I got it. So check on your name at least a day before it's set to clear. On the day of, I would try to get the page ready a few minutes early and start creating the pet until you've got it, or you've missed it.

I would recommend that, yeah. So in your case, get ready to snag the name on 5/27/15 at 3:00 pm because I've heard of a lot of names clearing early, mine included. If it doesn't clear that day, then so be it, but better safe than sorry. I would definitely look at pet names the day before.

When Anonymous cleared he did not clear a day before but around 6 hours before, so sometimes checking on the name the day it should really clear (if it did not already clear a day before) might be a good idea as well. :)
