I'm sorry you're not feeling well. Do you know what's causing them? If it happens a lot then maybe go see a doctor. But until then you can try taking a warm shower or getting a massage to relax your muscles. Or make yourself a cup of (peppermint?) tea. You can also try putting ice on your head. Or take some pain killers and go for a walk for some fresh air. You can also try taking a deep breath or a nap. And don't forget to drink some water. I hope you feel better!

Thank you!

Thanks ! Yes I would love more than anything a massage, especially since I'm a massage therapist! If only I could clone myself! Ha ha, oh well. I do get headaches regularly but I have had some head trauma and concussions so my doctor said they would happen regularly for a while. I shall try making some tea! Thanks for the input! Unfortunately it is too late to go out for a walk and perhaps I shall go to sleep soon.

You might try some aromatherapy? Peppermint, lavender, lemon, wintergreen, spearmint, and clove have been known to help relieve pain. Try getting oils (and you can even massage them on your temples or other parts of your body if they're body safe, some are edible and you could add them to water or tea) or incense or even just candles. YMMV but finding pressure points to tap/touch gently with your fingers, or find acupressure points to touch, might help too. All this stuff varies wildly person to person, hope it might help some.

I'm sorry to hear you aren't doing very well. I also experience intense headaches often and it isn't pretty.

Being in a dark room really helps. If you're on your laptop/computer/tablet, I recommend you turn down the brightness but it's best if you take some time off of your devices until you feel better.

Pain killers, fresh air and some water are your best friends when in times like this. I hope you feel better soon! :)

I've found that gatorade (or anything with electrolytes) helps with my headache. Or anything really cold. Also, just going in a quiet dark place helps me too. Maybe it will help you!

Aromatherapy works wonders! I have 13 different essential oil blends including headache relief but the smell kind of nauseates me. Lavender just puts you to sleep and I regretted using it one night when I had work in the morning because I went to bed at 12 and was still sleeping at 8! I've never had edible essential oils thought, I will start looking. That sounds very interesting!

This is important: NEVER massage your temples. That will only make the headache worse. Instead, massage the occipital region in the back of your skull. This is where the trapezius inserts.

Thanks ! I did drink a lot of water and sleeping usually makes them go away aside from one time, (not this time,) I went to bed and woke up still experiencing a headache. Sometimes eating large quantities of food helps and staying in the dark not using a brightly lit device.

Do you know any other drinks besides gatorade or powerade I should try? Not really a fan of the taste, trying to find an alternative to replace those brands with.

Tea or coffee (it can be weak if you don't like the flavor). Caffeine helps. But really painkillers will help more than anything...

It could be caffeine related. I tend to drink a lot of tea one day then skip a day. I need to not do that and drink caffeine every day!

You can find many alternatives to make a sports drink with natural substances. Coconut water is often referred to as “Nature’s Gatorade.” It contains 13 times more potassium – an electrolyte needed for proper cell function – than Gatorade, plus twice the amount of another electrolyte (sodium). (source) (This brand doesn’t have any additives/preservatives)

Raw honey is rich in minerals and easily digestible sugars, which can be used for energy. Sugar “signals the body to down-regulate the production of stress hormones like cortisol. Cortisol levels spike during exercise and particularly during anaerobic (when you get breathless) exercise.” (source)

Sea salt is full of electrolytes and minerals. Plus it “plays an important role of balancing the stress hormones during exercise. Salt reduces adrenaline levels and supports overall metabolic health.” (source)

Trace mineral drops add to the electrolyte content of the drink. Due to soil depletion many of us do not get enough trace minerals in our diet, so I supplement with this regularly.

Freshly pressed juices such as lemon, lime, and orange contain vitamins, enzymes and easily digestible sugars that help maintain energy during a workout, then help speed recovery afterwards.

Found this all at this and recipies for drinks here Sounded yummy to me (:

Couldn't find anything that wasn't related to sports though. :(
