I love my parents but they get on my nerves especailly when my mom is adamant on the fact my autisim is the sole reason I am a Pagan and gay. She believes that my religious choices are me just being obsessed with magick and not really taking it seriously and swear to god my mom believes I was peer pressured into thinking I'm gay by facebook. Its really quite insulting that your mother thinks any choice you've made that affects your life is just because I am gullible and I have a short attention span. So my question to the forum is this: Can You honestly make a lifestyle choice even if you have an extremely short attention span?

Hell yes you can. If you couldn't, I would never do anything, lol. No offense, but your mother seems like an awfully closed-minded person. A 'decision' like being gay or into a certain religion isn't really a decision to me. It's just who and what you are. Don't let her make you feel bad about either. You're a good person and you know it and that should be all that matters.

I'm going to move this to the advice forum in chit-chat since I'm not really sure this is a debate.

I have an autism too and my mother limits me more then my sister. Your life choices (and non-choices) aren't really affect my that just as mine aren't effected by mine. Some people treat people by your diagnoses, but all they know about you is what is written on a piece of paper that was given to then while exiting the doctors office. Your mother seems to be a close-minded person as Lisa has said, and those people know the least about the world around them.

TL;DR Hell yes you can make your own decisions, that's what being human is and no disability should take that away from you.
